Just hooked up with them a week ago with the agreement I will not work Northeast or Pennsylvania due too tolls and will be making about 1.59 per mile and no more then 150 mimes deadheading per week... After leaving home and fencing with words finally get it out of manager that you only have one load for choosing and if you don't take it then you will be sitting. Not even a week and they sent me a load too Pennsylvania. I decline..come day later they get me load all the way up too Connecticut...he (Kevin) said it was a 3.00 a Mile run...as many can attest too the miles for deadheading was 30 more then the 60 stated and the miles for load was a lot more or pay a lot of tolls..ends up being more like a 2.00 a mile run..After that 1st load back down was .60 cent a mile with a 150 mile deadheading..turned it down..finally get load too Philly.. for little more then 400.00.. next one too Oh for about same price..then they try too dispatch me for 84 dollars on short load..refuse load and told them I would do it for 350.00 and they were nuts..finally get load to SC for 800...all in all, this has been an experienced I will never forget....hopefully get my own trailer again here real soon. Was hoping this would had work out but with their air miles and business behaviorial control management this has turned into a nightmare. What people are saying about them is absolutely true and if anyone say different then that person is a liar. Been owner operators for few years now and their program is a one way ticket too going out of business. Was hoping after trying them out I could put a driver in this truck and get a second one for me...Glad I tested the water first.
Yea go buy a wagon and save yourself the headache. We get emails all the time from them. They say avg 2.00 mi 80% of the line haul. You can do way better being leased to a good carrier
Top 5 reasons not to do power only loads for JB Hunt 5. No Freight, (at least not much for us) 4. No communication from dispatch. Loads tendered are cancelled without warning. 3. No respect for our drivers time. Get stuck somewhere waiting for days. 2. No pay for TONU 1. No pay for picking up an empty, or to sit on it until the load planer finds something days later. and a bonus: No real options once you are out with their trailers. Never again. Recruiters promise good pay, load planners don't deliver.
Their Power Only recruiters, unlike most of their broker agents... The way they talk to you makes you think that they think of you as some lowlife illiterate. Too repulsive to even consider any deal with them. Enough.
Don't waste your time, I tried this program and didn't last a month To be honest I lost money dealing with these people, dispatchers are dishonest they will blatantly lie mileage is horrible if you can even book a load..the loads are heavy, long miles, and very low rates.. Dispatch talks to you any kind of way as if you are an employee..You'll do better getting your own trailer or leasing a trailer At least you can move and pick up freight how you want and negotiate rates, I do not recommend this program to any owner-operator... If they call or email just reply no thanks you'll save yourself plenty of headaches
