since you suspect that i run 68+ mph i will only say that you are wrong. my truck was a 2006 volvo vn780 with a d12 465 hp with a 13 speed overdrive transmission and 38,000 lb rears with 3.70 gears. i got the truck new with less than 30 miles on it and for the first while i didn't go over the 100 kph (62mph) speed limit. once it had 50,000 miles on it, yes i did speed up to 65 mph maximum cruising speed. at the end when volvo ran the numbers off of the ecm i only had less than 2% over the 65 mph marker. at 65 mph i was running 1375 rpm in top gear. this truck was spec'd by one of canada's largest dry van companies so i know that their spec's work. the 5.5mpg that i said i get is in us gallons as i got 6.6 imperial gallons per mile (still not great). their trucks with the same specs are getting well into the high 7's. what i was saying if you read my post is that i got a lemon of a truck and i did not find one dealer in all of north america that could fix it properly. the lane that i was running was from mcallen tx to the northern part of canada through the dakota's with a 36,000 lb avg load of steel i-beams, so it was not hard running. anytime you want to look at my service records, i'll think that you'll just shake your head and wonder how i survived that long.... I GOT A DUD. i know that alot of people swear by their volvo. i swear at them.
