Warmed back up here thank Goodness, the last few days were bitter :biggrin_2557: The doggies are loving being home and not in the truck 24/7. Think I will go out with JJ next week getting bored at home.

    in grand junction, co.

got in the yearly shower. with the shower head hanging straight down from the ceiling. and no base to contain the water as it drains into the ground. did the bi weekly hair and beard cut. bought myself a $10 rechargeable trimmer for the beard so now i can have a shave. doing laundry at the only laundromat in town. thinking golden corral for dinner. and maybe a movie.

You can't make this stuff up!!!!! Went into a Burger King last night. They have new register's, that take a manager's thumbprint, to turn them on.

When I walked in, the manager calls this girl up, cause he had to take the drive thru. She needed the register turned on, she looked at the manager and said
    "finger me".
I lost it and started laughing. She finally figured out why, don't think the manager ever did.

I fell victim to some evil spirit last night in Southern Oregon. They put a spell on my truck and I will get to spent tonight in the hotel. Lost the fan clutch coming out of Canyonville. I was able to baby it over the hills and limp it into the Peterbilt shop in Phoenix. The new job has been a bust and plagued with truck problems. I got a call earlier from the second in command and got a pep talk. He probably was worried I just go on home and call it quits.

I know a new job has its learning curve and it always seems to be the time that everything with the company goes wrong. Hope it goes better for you. On another note did you say that the last company was holding the keys in the desk drawer for you when you returned?

I did leave on good terms and the book keeper kept my set of keys that I had cut for me. Most customers use lock boxes, but some had the occasional pad lock. It took me over a year to get those keys and it is the only spare set at this time. I imagine if they would be in the need for a driver I could get a job there again.

At this point I chalk it up to growing pains and keep on trucking. Shoot, before you know it the year will be over and I got a nice trip coming up to Central America in early January.

Also, here is plug for the America's Best Inn & Suites in Phoenix OR. They are right beside the Petro and have a trucker special at $60.00 for the room. Nice big room with all the stuff, free wifi and breakfast. Life is good.
