Bread guys make better than 40k .. 50-65k is normal depending on where you live.. In the Chicagoland area make about 65k.. Do you do full service at the stores? Or do you just drop it off and a merchandiser works the product?

On MCLane...ask about the hours. I really liked the sound of them (salary and benefits), but had no interest in exclusively driving nights (their runs in my area are all night/"key" drops). If that's what you're down for...you should be in luck.

The plus side for them is that they typically (at least the terminal I was talking to in VA) have the weekends off. That seems to be pretty common for LTL carriers though (weekends off).

On the driver helper salary...I want to say that it was ~$18/hr in my neck of the woods. Check to make sure that they don't expect you to start out of the dock though. Granted I was a new CDL grad (I see you have some experience), but it sounded like they expecte people without LTL experience to put in some dock time.

Nfi has virtually no benefits. The money might not be bad but the its a total deadend job. Go with McClane.

so just a update I got a orientation date with mclane for next week and a interview for PFG (performance food group) that is closer. PFG said they pay about the same but any reviews between the two? im still thinking of going with mclane as they are more just Texas where as PFG is OTR kinda.
