Yes. They were all about the entire history of the company all the way back to 1946

I am living proof of that it can, indeed, 'turn out for the worse,' even when there is plan or desire for it. I had what is probably the final 'interview' with my former Fleet Manager at Gordon. He was kind enough to offer me a 30-day leave-of-absence if it would help. I assured him that I would never have chosen to leave any employer like this and that I was not going to do any commercial driving for 12 full months--and would then have to be "reevaluated" by the Michigan Secretary of State for suitability to exercise the privileges of a Commercial Driver License.

So enjoy driving whatever you drive; things can change. Quickly.

I can't go that far back but in the 70s nobody left GFF to drive a faster truck they had some lease ops with very large cars

Before you throw in the towel and head for the locker room give this man a phone call.
Try calling PAUL O. TAYLOR at the TRUCKERS JUSTICE CENTER at #651-454-5800
the address is 900 WEST 28th street suite#104 BURNSVILLE MN, 55337 Don't give up
so easy you would be surprised what you can achieve when you put up a good fight. Don't
let some bureaucrats that work for the DMV have the last laugh. When I was in the Army
we had a saying that went,NO PAIN,NO GAIN. Fight on, don't surrender. At least give it a try...

Got my next load, picks up 3 stops in Oregon on Thursday and delivers in Indiana on Monday, 2250 miles to start off next week. So on delivery on Monday, that will be 5788 miles. $$$$$$. $2500 in less than 2 weeks. I like making money again.

Right now I am not quite making the $$$$$ you are yet, Joseph but I know I will. My first aim was to lessen the stress which my wife (and she is best placed to judge!!!) says has dropped significantly in the past 2 weeks. I am sleeping better, I feel less unsure (no buyouts going on here!!) more stable and above VALUED which I never felt at all coming towards the end of my time at Gordon/HTLND. I don't feel that I will be spending 5/6 days out of the truck for mere routine preventative maintenance all because they found a little something that needed to be adjusted by 3 microns. When you are that obsessive about maintenance you are really ONLY interested in your CSA scores. While that is not a bad thing per se, a truck sat at a shop for 3 extra days is not productive and neither is the driver.

Am I going to be 100% happy 100% of the time, errrr, NO!!! But I definitely feel it will be more often than any other company I have been connected with! I think I made a good choice, finally!

A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF MY TIME AT GORDON:

Productive weeks (ie not the first or last week): 32
    Total paid miles: 64,906
    Ave per week: 2,028
    3,000+ weeks: 4-12.12%
    2,500-2,999: 5-15.65%
    2,000-2,499: 7-21.88%
    1,500-1,999: 8-25%
    1,000-1,499: 5-15.65%
    Under 1,000: 3-9.36%

So, in a nutshell... my miles with Gordon SUCKED BIG TIME..... why??? I don't know....

Q: Did you only stay out 2 weeks and stay home 3+ days?
A: NO, I usually stayed out a minimum of 3 weeks and often 4+ and never home more than 3-4 days

Q: Did you whine and complain about not going here, not going there?
    A: No, not once

Q: Did you turn loads down?
A: Only when I legally could not do them!!

I frankly find it staggering that close to HALF OF THE WEEKS I WAS THERE I ONLY DID BETWEEN 1,500-2,500.
    HALF WERE BELOW 2,000
AND NEARLY A QUARTER BELOW 1,500 INCREDIBLY.
I HAD 3 WEEKS BELOW 1,000 DUE TO, YUP, YOU GUESSED IT....MAINTENANCE, NOT HOME TIME. WILL HOME TIME INTERFERE WITH MILES, ERM, DUH YES.....BUT AN AVERAGE OF 2,026 AT ANY COMPANY IS P*** POOR. BUT A COMPANY THAT CLAIMS IT IS BETTER THAN SLICED BREAD....PLEASE.

1st productive week with Holland: 1,954
    2nd week: 3,072 hmmmmm.....

I can't say that. I had really good weeks. Reefer fleet was a lot different though. I ran the hell out of a lot of loads. But they took advantage of my "never turn anything down/do anything" attitude. That, coupled with the truck they gave me, I couldn't take it any longer. Especially knowing that it took 9 months to get my AC fixed on the other one. Wasn't gonna chance them screwing me again and making no money.
