Im not a recruiter so I wont feed you any BS.
They give me plenty of miles and when I go
home I usually take five or six days off after
two or three weeks on the road. The people
that work in the office and shop are super
nice to me. They have never said anything
to me that pissed me off. The insurance is
lousy, the trucks run at 65 mph. The pay is
not where it should be. I have made better
money with other companies. I have had
better and faster trucks. Best thing about
this company is they leave me alone. They
know I know what I am doing and I never
hardly hear from them. But like all things
it ain't perfect. For now it will do for me.
The trucking industry is going down the
tubes. It's not going to get any better for
the drivers anytime soon.drvrtech77, tow614 and Blu_Ogre Thank this. -
I just ate at a restaurant called Family and Table
in Brazil IN, off of I-70 exit#23 next to the Road
Ranger TS. Excellent food and service. The
Italian and Greek food is delicious. I should have
eaten here years ago. That Petro across the
street won't get my business ever again. -
I just looked at the add SEC put on craigslist.
All you need is a clean to moderate MVR and
PSP score? Whats moderate? I do like that
customized home time though. I guess that
means I will let you know when I feel like it's
time for me to return to work. LOL -
Seriously though, it sounds like you need some hometime to get away from the truck and the road. I hope things get better for you.popcorn169, zmpart and joseph1135 Thank this. -

After 2 bad months with SEC, decided it was best to hang up my keys and move on. It's too bad the promises of "I'll keep ya runnin through the weekend" and better insurance didn't pan out. I'm confident I could've gotten better miles with another DM but the insurance thing was a no-brainer. While I'm in relatively good shape for a 53 year old driver that's been on the road 20 years in January (no high blood pressure, no diabetes, no prescription meds...how does that happen?), the thought of going broke if hospitalization were needed was not good. I really believe SEC is in a transitional phase with their customer base and if the insurance were to get alot better, I would reconsider working for them. But there are other benefits to be considered. 401k, profit sharing, better pay, 24/7 operations staffing, and a tripak all told sealed the deal for my next (hopefully last) employer. I'll be in the northeast with Big G but not living up there like I have with other carriers. Still have my HAZMAT and that'll be put to use as well. We shall see....
Air Breeze and Bumper Thank this. -
I was bent on heading to SEC to until a freak ankle injury. In no position right now to let my insurance lap for a job change and it seems like people are heading out the door over there.
