So it's the end of the year. And most of us have been gone almost a year. So, how was your 2014 AG (After Gordon)?
Mine has been stellar. Your turn!

My 2014 started off good, but...

And I did get an unexpected visit from a daughter and three grandchildren last Summer, so it had a bright spot!

Mine sucked big white eggs! I was offered a job, quit Gordon and three days later the new job disappeared. So now I am looking for a job again.

My only complaints are a few minor health issues. I still plan on returning to work at the end of January.
I am bored stiff not working since mid November though. I always figure any time i get thru a year and
I am not in the hospital or planted 6 feet under ground I don't have much to complain about.

    Blu_Ogre Thanks this.

I don't know your age, but at mine, not ending up supine on an adjustable hospital bed or unconscious an ambulance gurney is always a welcome end.

And my dogs nails were just ground by the vet techs ... and he liked it! Yet another happy ending.

I am 51 years old although people tell me I still look like I am in my 30s... Sometimes my body makes me feel a lot older.
When I look at how much the world has changed since my youth I feel ancient. I do realize one thing though, you have to
have a purpose in life or you wont last as long as you could. Like the old saying goes, " a rolling stone gathers no moss".
I keep thinking about going back to school and learning another trade but at my age it would probably be a waste of time.
For some crazy reason I miss driving around in a big truck. I can hardly stand a lot of the stuff going on with this industry
now but I still think driving a truck is a great way to waste my life away. A regular job would bore me till I went crazy.

    joseph1135 and tow614 Thank this.

After 2 years away from GTI things are going o.k.

Have been running for a good group of folks that definitely give me miles, 140k miles or so this year. And yes that is with a long weekend to a week @ home every month.

Unfortunately the pay is a little low even with some of the rate adjustments they made in the past couple of months. Also getting kinda burned out on refer freight. So wandered around today and got the DOT inspection on the truck and submitted the DOT drug test for a different company with a different business model. Have been pre-screened, should be there within 30 days. Will be running dry van for now.

    New year, New adventures.

Air Breeze: I am also 51. This is my third career, and second business. I have chosen to continue to do this driving thing and grow myself down the Owner Operator path.
