[Q=Air Breeze;3992081]They have sent quite a few msgs ointot recently
that say with the new park smart system your
idle time should be zero. When I spoke to the
FM he said I need to use the cruise control more
My cruise time is between 60-90% now. I use it
as much as possible. If you dont watch out you
will cruise right into an accident. I dont use it in
urban driving, bad weather or hills and mountains
He did not tell me what that % was supposed to
be. He said it wasnt him telling me it was from the
    owners...Whatever[/QUOTE]

I wouldn't worry about it too much... they are spending a lot of money that they weren't accustomed to spending in the past. All new trucks after runing those old petes into the ground, new trailers and they increased driver pay .10 cpm from what they were paying in order to attract a better class of driver to improve their csa scores. I know that scooter nor I have had anyone say anything to us and we have the same dm as you.

I was talking to a driver as I was leaving who was put Into a new international because the qualcomm said he drove in 9th gear too much and his fuel milage was in the 5's. He said his qualcomm had to be giving false info but I dont know.

Just keep driving and they will calm down...if not then... we were looking for a job when we found this one...lol

I can sort of understand the idle but to have zero idle is a bit confusing. I do not understand the cruise deal though. As long as you have good fuel mileage why should the cruise matter since it will hurt your mileage in some situations?

I don't understand the cruise control thing either....l think that because it is info the qualcomm gives you that some people actually think it is important. If they had any sense they would realize the lazy nature of drivers and if there is any way we could use the cruise we would. Personally I dont use it in traffic or bad weather nor if I am tired. Dont want to fall asleep with cruise on.

I just woke up and i am about to start my day
in a hour or so. I want to drive thru KC before
the morning rush hour. I notice the temperature
is 40° outside. I know this cant be normal
for this time of year its May 1st. I think this
man made global warming is a big fraud. Has
anyone seen Al Gore lately? Maybe hes hanging
out at his 25000 square foot mansion outside of
Nashville with its own Atomic power plant that
supply its energy requirements. Probably he is
writing his new book on man made global cooling

Don't get me started on Al Gore...he doesnt own that house any more..sold it after Tipper divorced him for trying to have sex with that masseuse in Portland. Besides, that place could have been declared a superfund site from all the waste dumped there.

Maybe Al decided to take a vacation at the North
Pole. Now that the ice cap has melted the fishing
should be great. Maybe he can pick up a few boxes of Polar Bear steaks to give to some Eskimo chick
when he is looking to get a massage.

Got a call from a gti recruiter today checking to see if I was still happy with my move. He used to be my dm whom I really liked a lot so I didn't give him any grief.

I just told him that this is a far superior situation for me...longer runs, non forced dispatch, plenty of freight, easy to get hometime and for as long as I need. Plus I get by my house a couple times a month for my break as well.

He could tell i was quite happy where i am now and didn't even suggest coming back to gti.

I did have to mention that I was able to recruit scooter from gti and airbreeze from heartland to SEC and they were both very happy here also.

My recovery from surgery has improved greatly the past 2 days. I still have a bit of pain but the incision has healed nicely. I hope to be able to return to work by late next week.

My biggest concerns on returning too soon are cranking up landing gear on some of the older trailers we still have and getting in and out of the truck all day. You have to visualize what it feels like to have part of your left nut cut off...lol

I cant comment on GTI, but this company is
much better than Heartland. The insurance
they have now sucks but they told me they
are getting a better plan in October. They
did send another msg, today about their
zero idling policy. I am not going to worry
about that much. I will see how they decide
to handel it. They do pay a fuel bonus so I
dont see what the big deal is anyway. If you
idle to much you wont get the bonus.

Go to a medical supply store, the kind of
place that sells crutches and that sort of
stuff and get yourself a hernia belt. If you
wear one while your lifting or cranking it
should help you so you dont injure or strain
    yourself till you fully recover.
