You have to get the concept of "miles" out of your head. LS runs on percentage, not per mile. You could run 1,000 miles and make what you currently make running 3,000 if you're a good business person, learn the load board, and make the necessary connections with agents to get first call on good paying loads. You also can't restrict yourself to regional if you want to be very successful. You have to run where others don't want to in certain times of year. There's so much more than just "how much can I make per mile."
Not sure about out. I know one agent has the Pierce Fire Engine account and ships chassis all over the U.S. Past that, I couldn't tell you. I know I ship quite a bit into WI on the platform side.
My home is Rock Hill, SC about 25 miles south of Charlotte, NC. Are there enough loads in my area to get me home when I want to go?
You should be fine in that area. There are agents in that area with very good dedicated van freight as well, but you would have to either luck out or pester the hell out of them to get on it.
What happened to the OP? I am looking very strongly at LS and want to know all there is to know before I go. Thanks.
