Freedom, I'm not that good. I use that as an indicator on who to weigh with portable scales and who not to weigh with portable scales. I have had numerous guys hand me a weigh record that shows a legal weight , but they are not close to the "Load ticket." Guys drive or try to drive around me all the time. Sometimes I catch them, sometimes they get by. You're right, they make it by, they make a lot of money for running a double load. I catch them once, and they haven't made out so well. It's a game of cat and mouse. Some guys look at it this way and love the game. It doesn't bother me one way or the other. I know I can't get them all, nor do I try. But more often than not I will get one or two a day doing it. 50 probably get by me why I have one stopped, but such is life.

Look their are guys doing dirty stuff that I and every other guy can not or does not catch. It's like fishing, you can't get them all. Although some guys do dumb stupid things. I'm sorry if I say something is stupid that it offends you. But in the world I live in I don't sugar coat things, I'm not a touchy feeling type tree hugging person and I definately am not a politically correct smuck. I call things the way I see them and know no other way. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck in my world.

The low profiles are different and I have learned over the years to tell the difference with them. The old regular tires was what I was talking about. Those were the ones the "old guys" taught me years ago. I weighed a lot of low profiles and found they were ok using the same screening method, but I live and learn. I learned other ways to tell them. I look at the load, the placement of the load and knowing what products weigh. It's not an exact science, but it is a good screening tool on who to pull scales on at roadside and who not to waste 25 minutes of my and the driver's time.
