As you know trucking is what it is. I like it here, stepdeck LTL is a different mind set, not like the normal flatbed freight, lots of tarping and retarping, which they pay you 15.00 everytime you touch one, which is quite often, I think they have almost 40 trucks now, the money is there, but I will be honest, I have been there since middle Jan of this year, and have been through the house 2 times, for enough time to do laundry and take a shower, all the drivers like it here, even proud to be here, not something you see in many drivers these days. The shop is great, they are anal about maintenance, and keep the trucks in prime shape. As far as orientation, they are upfront, ask a question and you will get an answer, may not be what you want hear!! How do you feel about running hot logs, we all know staying in touch with dispatch is paramount. anyway.

Kaiser is a great place to work! It's not for everyone though. This is an LTL outfit and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. $350 a week? Come on. I think your buddy probably wasn't working to his potential. A lot of us do chrome out our trucks. We live in these trucks and it feels nice to "decorate". I rent the house that my family and I live in and my wife decorates the inside and outside. It's the same thing if you ask me. All of the chrome is tax deductable and I can take it with me if I decide to leave. Our boss is a great guy and probably the best boss I've ever had. He does leave us a weekly message over the phone and it fills us in on the business. I don't think that's a bad thing. I kinda like being in the loop and knowing what's going on. I'm proud to work for Kaiser and I'm well compensated. Like I said though, it's not for everyone.

Hey Bro! I have been watching your vids on youtube and they are among the best out there. I am heading to cdl school in July for Roehl Transport. You're vids are one of the main reasons I decided to go into the national flatbed division, so thanks! Hopefully I will see you on the road sometime soon. Kaiser seems like a ####### company to work for and after I have the experience needed, I plan on applying. Keep up the great work, you have been inspiring!

Dooner good to see you join the best forum out there, I follow you on youtube and facebook and really look forward to your new videos. I myself now drive a company truck after owning my own for almost 12 years and can honestly say I make a lot more money now and I' home ever night. What I'm getting at is I buy chrome and interior stuff for the companys truck because it is my way of showing my pride in my ride and I like to keep a clean shiny truck. I treat that truck like it's my name on the door and yes I do catch #### from other guys but screw them, my money my time my pride and most importantly MY BUSINESS. Keep up the aweome job and videos and trashtrucker I totally agree with you, nd get thse tanks polished

Poorboy, who do you work for in SW Florida that gets you home at night and operates nice equipment? I don't say this sarcastically, just wondering because Florida is such a hard place to find good work these days. My wife and I are in PA for a year while she attends school and might relocate back to Florida if we don't head to Texas first and I don't even know which direction to turn, I'm pulling bulk tanks up here now and would like to stick with it so I would lean towards Bulkmatic or Walpole, they just don't do a lot of hiring though, I know I can get on with CCC, I've worked there before and the people are great but the pay is just so low. Anyway, hate to be nosey, but hell I might know ya'.

Hey Trashtrucker sorry it took me so long to reply, I work for UNFI and you can find them online at unfi.com. I currently work 5 nights a week like 4pm to 6am and haul food in a reefer trl from our warehouse in Sarasota to stores throughout Florida. It is not hard, I have a electric jack and just have to bump a dock and unload the pallets into the back room then load up their empty pallets and haul ###. Take my paid 1hr lunch and get back to the yard. I just got a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia daycab that is assigned to me but I do have to share it 2 days a month with a float driver. We do everything by senority and "bid" on our run package once a year usually around the beginning of July. They start you out at $18.50/hr with 3 25cent raises within your first 4 months then raises come once a year on your anniversary date and as long as you have been a good boy you will get a 4% of your current wage raise. Most of our drivers make between $55K and $65K whick isn't bad for Florida. Our wage tops out currently at $24.69/hr but they have raised it on average once every 12 months. Hope this helps, it doesn't hurt to put a app in.

Nice equipment is the only plus I could see with this place. Micromanagement is an understatement there. To them you are an idiot and need to be trained on everything right down to the way you drive the truck. Their trainer will outright tell you that you drive too slow if you don't run at least 5 over the posted limit and when you take off you must start out in second gear with the OD forward(18 speeds) or you also take off too slow. Ouch my clutch!!! What do they care, the trucks get dumped at 400K. Great state of mind for a trainer at a company with an unsafe driving CSA of over 70%. They think they do something that no others can do. The top revenue is machines. Not that difficult. You don't have to be the elite to haul a load of mills and CNC's without damaging them. It's the job of any carrier to transport freight without damaging it. Somehow they think they are the only ones who can do this. If they are so fantastic, why aren't they authorized to transport hazmat? They do not haul explosives or corrosives. They also do not haul any moving freight. To that I say they can take that holier than thou attitude and shove it. You want the elite, look at the guys who haul the real difficult freight like tanks, explosives, fuels and swinging meat. Those things require skill. If you want to be treated like a moron, be absolutely owned and on call 24/7/365 and only see home a few times a year for more than 5 hours, then Kaiser is for you.
