Knight just bought Abilene Motor Express, the company I drive for. And I have one question...

The loads may not all be hot, but they are all paid by the mile. When I start getting hourly pay then you'll see me moseying along at 60-65.

 

I simply thought this was a joke. Abilene seemed to be one of the premiere companies out there and to get swallowed up like that man. I hope everything goes fine and Abilene just gets the ability to run the lanes SWIFT and Knight run.

 

We are overwhelmed with the lanes we have.

 

But I thought everyone drove against their governor all the time was because of elogs...

 

Not me. As it see it, more miles per hour = more dollars per hour. I don't intentionally drive below governed legal speed no more than any one else would ask to earn less per hour at their jobs.

 

Oh dang man. I was even considering Abilene myself but went over to Marten because they had a terminal in my city. I really hope they don't drive the pay into the ground and kill off all the veterans.

 

They will get a raise from looking at their website, Swift is quite a bit more cpm.

 

If the pay raise is tied to idling or mpg then not looking forward to it.

 

I think they'll turn you guys down. What's the cpm anyways?
