I’ve got a 2019 international MV EXTENDED CAB, and when I drive and go over bumps that’re acute, it’ll make a knocking noise as if something may be loose. The noise’ll come from both corners of the cab. It’s been checked numerous times and no one really knows what the noise is.
I had something like that in my 'loaner' truck. It turned out to be the inner fender well. It was a bit loose.
I agree that it may be something to do with the hood. On my Peterbilt the hood bracket rubs against the hood rest and squeaks sounding like it’s in the dash. Greasing any contact points sometimes helps or wrapping a sock or rag and securing with a zip tie may help.
