I always wait until the load is actually on my trailer to tell someone when I will arrive. It's last minute, but my family and friends are used to it and understand.
That happened to my last hometime load I got stuck at shipper for 12 hrs because they ran out of product and they was making product and loading as they made product, These Live loads are just dumb go to some and you wait hours to be loaded what's the point of a appointment, if they can't keep appointment times they should be paying us after a hour not 2 hours Just my 2 cents
Never tell the wife you are coming home until the load is in the trailer, the doors are shut, and you are on your way. And even then, it is chancy!
What is really fun is to go to the packing sheds and be told they are waiting for the product to come in from the field. . .
Ain't that the truth, CA and AZ, then have to wait for them to flash freeze. Or meat packing, waiting for them to slaughter and flash freeze. the reason I stopped pulling reefer.
