I'll be da mned if a company wants to hold out money for cash advances! I NEVER took one.

Money for a prepass? What is their logic?

The company that held back $150 was more than good enough to make up for it, and I got the money back anyway. The PrePass money is a deposit that will be returned when I leave. I was just making a point that all the big companies hold back some money in the beginning for one thing or another. I've never worked anywhere that didn't.

I have... but you end up shelling out some bucks for stuff that other carriers might just hand you. Of course you get to keep that stuff...

That's pretty much what OTR is. I doubt you'll find any company that gives you more hometime than one day for every week out. But you're doing the right thing for yourself; as you seem to know, OTR isn't for everybody and there is no company that meets every driver's needs. It's good to seek other opportunities before you ruin your taste for trucking.
