okay...actually finished reading the whole thing. and shaving an hour off a day will be a big deal when/if you ever have a fender bender. Because, and i'm assuming you're running the paper logbook pages? So that means if you ever have a wreck, the officer will look at your page. If you show driving, and they investigate and show you were parked (or vice versa) it'll automaticly go against you in the eyes of the state. Because now you've proven you're not credible.

How? Well say you show your pre-trip at 5a...and start driving at 5:15....when you REALLY just woke up at 430a, put your make up on, (or whatever you do in the morning) and just started rolling at 5a just to "make up" 15 minutes. Well, had you actually started out at 5:15a and not 5:00, you wouldn't have been where you were, and thus would not have had this accident.

And trust me, when you start running up against your 70 hr clock, the company will know it. They will send you a message saying basicly 'you need to stop, we show you are .50 over your 70. plz verify and send in your hrs for the week". Guess what...now you're screwed. Get enough log vioations, be seen as shaving hrs off just to run more, will get you termed faster than you can say "cat in a hat".

I think i've shown a 60 mph average a handful of times. And when they ask me about it, i tell them, "I drove from Des Moines, Iowa to Wichita in 7 hrs. its all interstate, slowing to under 50 only around KC, some construction, and i stopped for 30 min for a break...other than that, i was crusing at 62 the rest of the time". And it will be close to 60mph. but almost never do i average higher than 58.

remember, it was your log....you signed it saying it was legal. dont blame the mentor.....

UH OH!!! Here we go with the ole' "I'm sorry he did it excuse again" Why the he** is somebody always looking for someone to blame for their screw up? Come on driver, man up take responsibility. Did this "mentor" twist your arm and MAKE you log it that way? My guess is NO!!! It's your logbook do it the way its "supposed" to be DONE. PERIOD end of story.
