Long wait for orientation?

I'm at C-1 in Ft Worth now and i'm supposed to graduate friday. We have heard rumors here at school that there is at least a month wait to go to orientation. Does anyone know anything about this? If this is true i'll have to go back home to Alabama and get a job while I wait. My bills don't care if i'm working or not as long as they get paid!

 

If you have your CDL...you could always search for a better driving job while you wait.

USA ain't exactly the "cream of the crop".

 

Well that's the thing. USA is paying for my school. We heard that we could switch companies and go with PAM as long as we were in school so I guess i'll go talk to the school director tomorrow and see what I can do.

 

I am interested in this too. I may be going to C1 in Indy on the 20th

 

k9ulan- I will be starting C1 on July 20, if you do I will see you there. I have gotten mostly good info from drivers about USA Truck, this info is a little worrisome but I have some cash saved up. My father has been a trucker for 25 years and if a company is crap he would tell me and he liked USA. I read your earlier posts and could not believe that other companies would not hire you being a vet and a LEO. I hope to see you there on the 20th. I also heard we need to bring lots of disinfectant for the no tell motel we will be staying in.

And as far as the motel, really bums me out, iwas gonna drive my corvette to school, but i guess ill have to drive my ole pu truck and pay for the extra gas. Hope to see ya soon..

 

I'm also suppose to start on the 20th in Indy. Was hoping to get in a truck as fast as possible after the schooling. Hope Tragic Magic logs in and lets us know if he talked with his school director today.... Schoolin aint gonna mean much without a job afterwards...

 

Hey guys, talked to the director at school and he said not to listen to the B.S on the yard. We graduate friday and go home for a week and report to orientation at Van Buren on the following weekend so that's a huge relief for me because i've wiped out my savings and I need to go to work asap. By the way I took my road test today and made a 96! I'm the proud new owner of a CDL!! woo hoo!!!!
