Superior is good for home time even for system OTR drivers. Longest I was ever out was 12 days. I would always take 3-4 days off minimum after those weeks. I think the company line is 5-7 days out but they will head you back towards your home terminal with the second dispatch that week unless you communicate with dispatch that you want to stay out.

The nice thing about system driving is the layover pay. If you sit anywhere but home for over 14 hours you go on the clock at $15 per hour for the next 10. That's $150 a day guaranteed if they don't keep you moving or you reset on the road. They pay for hotels if you need a reset as well.

A hard runner like flyingmusician always maxing out his 11 would likely pick up some layover pay before a delivery appointment since they usually give you lots of time. All that is paid time on lines 1 and 2 not subtracting from your 70 hour work week. You also get $10 a night sleeper berth pay. That's not much but it does add up to a couple of thousand over a year.

Cool thank you for the info! About how long does it take for the whole process for the hazmat endorsement?

You would be hard pressed to make over 70K at Superior as a company driver. Too much sitting between system loads and you won't get the best loads from the other terminals when out in the system. If you could run 140K miles per year here though you would likely be in the 80-90K range. That said you can easily make 60K running 100K miles a year and not work real hard.

If you want to run a van, Try Chief Trucking in Seagrove NC. There drivers are happy. I've talked to one on break and google map has positive comments. Good luck.

Yes its a chemical tanker company. They will want you to get a TWIC card as well but will pay for it if you get hired so no need to have it before applying.
