    Hi there pattyj,
Well honestly yes they did lie to me about the things I stated above, but overall it was the best company I have ever drove for. So I guess I just know they are somewhat of a safe bet... Do any trucking companies not lie? A little? Maybe ones that require years of experience.

    pattyj Thanks this.

Contact CFI. They had some sort of lease/purchase type program.

That's a good idea (www.cfidrive.com). They also have cdl school for your buddy and you can team there. No money needed; they provide the school, meals, lodging.

Thanks for the post, quick question though. Do they provide good home time? I live in Northern Indiana.

I don't know how the hometime works. CFI is a coast to coast operation.

CRST gets lots of bad press, but that's usually due to forced teaming and people being teamed with a total stranger they have nothing in common with. They do have some good dedicated team runs though and free cdl school. One guy in Indiana or Ohio just signed up for school and a dedicated run to California hauling Caterpillar freight. They have dry van, refrigerated, tankers, expedited, and a special division, "Club Car" which is a team operation hauling golf carts from the factory to 48 states and Canada.

Since you want to purchase. The first question I would ask US express is what percentage of lease purchase drivers finish the program and don’t let the rep.distract you without an answer. Then I would want a copy of the LP contact and copies of settlements.L/P are not at all the best way to purchase a truck you would be better to repair your credit save up a down payment and buy the traditional way.Doing these kinds of programs at companies like U.S. where I’m sure it’s a mileage pay plan, aren’t good if you even had your own truck, pay at a $1 a mile and fsc you really are just buying a job at best your just making a living.theres not enough pay to build a good savings you will be married to the truck for duration of the term.

He asked about hunting with a spear, and he got answers about how dangerous wild boar are, hunting with an axe, don't hunt at all, wear an orange bear hide, how much hunting elk pays, etc. SMH.
