dont go to crst i know youre desperate but i gaurantee you will hate it there. i know a few guys i went to school with that went there and they all had horror stories, not to mention youll go broke, the 300 dollars a week is pretty much that. get a loan from your dad or save your money. do your homework, im a rookie too with less than a year and i make 4 times what the crst guys make, i have pay stubs to back it up. im no different from you assuming you have a clean mvr and background. i would never let anyone i know go to crst

CRST definately was'nt my first choice but since it is the only company that will hire from where I am well then that's going to be my only choice.I'll just hope for the best and get through my year and see how it goes...I don't have the money for another school and don't wanna get involved with loans atleast I know If I pass the test with CRST i'll have a job, plus I need a better job I only work 3 days a week part-time. I worked a whole whopping 17hrs this week.Fiance says it's time for a career change and pronto.

just because you run team doesnt mean youll make money. crst and other bottom feeders make money off students and leases not freight. they charge so cheap for freight it kills.the industry. because they always need new students they want you to fail so theyll have room for the next guy. i work for dot foods, if you search them on this forum youll see im not blowing smoke.

USX boys can make those numbers running team after getting through the training and 8 week forced teaming at a lower pay rate. But after all training is done you can make those numbers. Gotta have a good FM and guys who do nothing but drive drive drive but it's possible with the right "training company"

I ran my first year with PAM transport. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy and I got lucky enough to get what in my oipinion was the best driver manager they have. We worked out a system so I rarely if ever had to wait for a load after delivering one. Averaged 3k miles a week. Plus I got fuel bonuses every month, only $75/month but better than nothing.

I also busted my butt making sure loads arrived on time, and accepting some less than desirable loads and repowers while politely mentioning it would be nice to get a good load as a thank you. eventually I started getting the hot loads, lots of miles, tight schedules which means little sitting around. If my 10 hour break was more than 10 hours I would say something. As I said you only get out what you put in. Being docile and just going with the flow will not get you notice, conversely being harsh and demanding will get you ignored.

Im not sure if you've heard anything about them or whether you've decided to research the or not, but Im considering Swift myself. They dont have a range for which they hire in and it is also a company sponsored training program. Just a suggestion.

Yea Gearjammer. You re a man. Don't listen to all the negative people on here trying discourage you from this company and that one. Every experience is different for individuals. But what I've learned in my reseach of the truckin industry is that these situations are what you make of them. If you go into something thinking like duckdiver, then of course its going to be a bad experience. Its all about what you make of it. And im in your shoes so I can relate more to your situation. Any trucking job would be better than wherever it is your work part-time right now slaving for 17 hours a week. That's BS!

    MikeAkaSyndrome and Gearjammer17 Thank this.
