You know I love when folks who drive dry van try to compare it with reefer, it's a different world here just like flats or tanker.

We sit a lot, there are few drop and hooks and detention can add up to good pay, lol I've unfortunately made $150 since Sat sitting at shippers and receivers. At Magnum you should month to month make a decent wage, however flats would (at a decent company) pay more and there are regional tanker jobs that have superior hometime with better pay.

Work conditions matter to me so driver cams and fuel solutions are not what I'm looking for, I'll deal with being paid a few less scheckels... Having said that, if any of you know of a good connestoga company I'm open to hearing from ya, I'm just not that interested in tarping.

Honestly it would take a lot to get me away from here, the management is approachable and for the most part accommodating and advert working to get to know the system I typically get 2300 miles or more every week at a decent pay rate.

Talked with a driver yesterday who runs for a small regional reefer company on paper, wow he says the company doesn't even try and give you legal runs. They are paid well, but I will happily live without the extra stress...

Ya'll truck safe heading from GA to TX and then OR, hopefully I can avoid the flooding...

My last pay with Magnum at 41 CPM was 2460 after taxes. That was hard 2 weeks of running but 2 layover days in there and 4 stops worth of detention and I took out 180 in advances. I was also on perdeim. I don't know where else you could make that money with the sitting we sometimes do and NO ONE bothers you.

Really. My last paycheck was one of my biggest, and included the 3rd installment of the hiring bonus and wasn't even close to that. But I don't do perdiem and my insurance is $250/check. I averaged it out, my gross pay thru May, divided by 5, multiply by 12...my gross will be $50675 if they continue at the current pace. And since my biggest single month for miles was December, and since my raise my average monthly miles have dropped by 650 miles...I'm not holding my breath that they'll change for the better.

I was lucky, I didn't need health insurance. And my check wasn't with any bonus but it was for like 6600 miles. And I did get quite a bit of detention.
