I was at manheim Riverside,CA yesterday around 7pm. Out of the almost 60 spots none was empty yet only about 5 trucks were loading. The rest were shut off probably done til Monday. I had to go park at the offsite lot. When i went back this morning, same scenario just a few empty spots. I think that Manheim should limit truck parking to no more than 24hrs. Enough time to load and take 10 hr break.

Sounds like they need cameras, and or a guard on duty with bright lights. You can not hide junk in bright light.

Probably was talking about Shipping Wars. If not, close enough to make no never mind.

Never watched it, so I have no opinion.
But like all these flipping shows on DIY or the storage auction show or whatever there is always a group of people who jump on the bandwagon not realizing it's all staged for the show.

Most of the auction lots are pretty dark even when the few lights are on. So cameras would be difficult or very expensive. Then having to staff additional people to watch monitors & more so having to remove a few bad apples is job I would not want.

That aside, a couple of the rail yards are lit up like day time & they do have the cameras to see everything you are doing. Have watched them zoom in on things in the guard shack at Elwood that was crazy insane.

The difference between auctions & rail yards is that you load your truck inside the gate at a rail yard. Auctions typically load outside of gate. So their cars are locked down unless you have checked them out with a gate pass. I do not see Manheim or Adesa sinking a bunch of cash in to exterior lighting, cameras & staff on a nation wide level.
