I used a mag mount on the center of a car roof to tune the antennas before moving them to the dipole mount. Very little adjustment was needed after moving to dipole mount.

HD'S idea was to get rid of the tall ant mount i have and get a longer shaft for the 10k..No other details but i dont see how it would make a diff..

Fire stik offers a 4Ft NGP antenna system. There are marine antennas designed for cb I don't know how they would work on a truck The mount rabbi shows here would be more stable than the one I put together. Using the mount designed for Slip seat plus the regular mount to attach it to the bird perch means more flexing which could cause failure. The mount has lasted a year so far.

Then once you get it all Resonant at the frequency you are looking for you can put a shunt coil connecting those two plates to bring your feed Point resistance up to 50 ohms

As I stated earlier I originally had the 10k with 27 inch shaft and it worked great, I just stopped using it because at highway speeds+wind it would shake too much at antenna mount.
