I'm thinking if I had my volume turned down a bit lower it might have sounded better.
He was talking on an Electro Voice 602f
And I was talking on an Electro Voice 602 t
They were basically the same microphone I just don't think he's perfected his speaking technique yet. He presses his face up against the microphone while I speak across the microphone so I don't get the popping sounds

true my point is to upgrade the power cord. and improve the thin gauge wire most all radios come with/with bigger better wire...

Look Craig I've got to vent here, not because of you but because of an email I got.

It seems to be two other people who are CB techs (meaning charges for info) have said they tore apart a cascadia and talked to freightliner but when I reach out to the go to guy there he says only one guy has contacted them and that's me. Remember I asked about what is what with this truck and why. What materials they use and how they decided on it, got a lot of info but most of it is useless for what the problems are. From everything I've read so far no one has yet gone as far as tearing door panels off, taking interiors out and even removing dash parts but those others have claimed they did it and for a price will fix your truck.

Now that said, I will repeat a few important points.

1 - rf is a creature that isn't easily figured out. One time it may do one thing and another do something completely different.

2 - there is a difference between rf ground, DC ground and the concepts of ground planes/counter poise, those difference have little to do with what some of these issues seem to be but ... on the other hand many of you are overthinking the issues and that is really the problem. A while ago I threw in another issue - the capacitance between the vehicle and ground and on another site (won't mention it), I got some of the nastiest replies I've gotten ever from CB techs, so for you guys think about what it means and how it supposed to effect the system.

3 - don't beat yourself up about knowledge, most of it won't do much for you and do the best thing you can do, experiment. Keep it simple, as I said don't over think it.

Not a doubt in my mind im over thinkin and just to anal about what lil i do know but i dont wanna burn up my gear, reach out and do more than 5 miles or waste my $$....Now many of us out here as you mentioned before are company drivers and just cant rip apart these trucks to satisfy the ant needs so we all try different things and suggestions and many of use look twards the guys that know this for help...

I for one read your posts and not one to #### on anyone for a mistake(not intentionally)..Im also not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth when he offers up his knowledge that will benefit me some how...With your know how i say keep posting and tell the folks who give you crap to eff off...If they think your wrong, prove it and if not go away..
I say "KEEP ON POSTIN WHAT YOU KNOW TO THOSE WHO WANNA KNOW"
