Rate trends on a public load board mean nothing. Public load boards like dat and Internet truck stop are used for one thing and one thing only, a last resort. They almost NEVER have a decent load on them.
Brokerages love them because every tom dick and Harry fly by night running on a show string budget carrier runs off them exclusively.

If I was a flatbed guy and in Memphis and you were 1 of many offering the same 2.85. I'd haul it for someone else...even if you are cod and the other is 60 days.... that's what coming off as a know it all will get you..maybe it already has?

Not every load on every truck goes on the load boards. Especially out of WY. I would bet only 15% of all freight out of there is listed, if that. When I go there I automatically call a customer in Texas and he buys something in CO for me to haul back for him. I guess I'm just a nice guy to deal with.

30 bucks for a one truck pony outfit. That's the quality of carrier you are getting to run at those lane rates.

I pull a reefer and I'm taking my family on a nice vacation to the Bahamas this summer. I'm guessing that the op won't believe that either

    15 percent??

Let's see we run GP, international paper and Weyerhaeuser in the office. 2 of them are mine.

We run between those three customers almost 400 loads a week and have 7 coordinators to help us.

ALL OF IT GOES ON LOADBOARDS.

TQL and Coyote does a lot with them also and posts them out.

So I'd say 80 percent of the largest paper and pulp customers freight those on there.

Another customer I have does 1400 loads A WEEK YES A WEEK 24/365 shipper. We post out all of their loads the small percentage we get.

    15 percent is low.

Truckstop as of right now has 320k loads posted for just this week so far

No hatred for brokers at all. A broker wants to make as much money as possible, same as i do. Nothing wrong with that.

    cnsper Thanks this.
