    And it's still true today....

Who cares if somebody dredges up an old thread? As long as they have currently relevant info pertaining to the subject matter, I say cool!

I mean....You guys can't have it both ways, You see someone asks a question that's been asked before and you say "Why didn't you use the search feature?" then some poor slob uses the "search feature" and you bag on him for bringing up an old thread!:biggrin_2552:

Old thread or not, it is preaching to the choir.

We all have these situations, it seems on a daily basis.
But those that cause the problems are not here to learn the error of their ways.

I asked other drivers to post their expiereneces about if you had been called in on (to your company) from 4-wheeelers for not merging over.
I was recently terminated from con way truckload for.....first he said it was 3 call ins in 18 months next morning he said it was 3 call ins in 6 months and that made me a liability. of course he refused to give me copies of these "reports" he did write down the dates and that V-1 (me) merged into V2 lane, then refused to sign this paper. On one of the dates, I wasnt even in the state the call came in from... I'm just needing to show that unfortunatly this happens. I know I was terminated for other reasons I just cant prove that either, the worst of it all is, they put on my DAC a bunch of crap and now, Nobody wants to hire me, so some comments from other drivers would be great so when I go for my appeal hearing I can show the judge this is something angry 4-wheelers do, even when THEY were in the wrong.

Your case is different from the origin of the thread which involves other vehicles merging from on ramps . You state you were the one making the lane change .
I do agree there should be documentation of complaints and you should know exactly what the other driver said and be able to present a defense .
A while back I heard of a driver's ex wife who would know where he was traveling and call in false complaints about his driving .

    SHC Thanks this.

:biggrin_25524:This happen too me , in ohio , of all place's, i went thru there famous roundta over there, i waited and waited for everyone at the stop sign, mayby ten cars went round and a round, well the way was clear, so i went , i was in the inside lane , come up to my street, so i only did only half a circle, wacthing my trl tadems becuse i knew they would go over the line for outside lane, yup, sure did, and there was cop there , got it straighten out out going down the street , he pulls me over did you not see me back there, your trailer almost hit my me, , i said i was sorry too him, but like i told him i had the right tadem on the curb, he let me go with a warning, since i wasn't being a jerk or anything, so i really dont know how you go thru those circles without taking up both lanes, i guess he was late for his coffee and doughnuts. :biggrin_25523:

Never had that problem. Have had a complimentary call once for allowing traffic to merge. Was hauling a haz mat load west bound on I-66 just off the 495 Loop. President of the company called me up about a half hour after it happend to explain the situation and ask what I did. Took me a few seconds to realize what the situation that was called in for was. Lot's of cars to my left and lots of cars coming down a merge ramp. I had no choice really but to slow down to about 40 mph allowing everyone to merge ahead of me. One car on the ramp did hop in behind my truck and ride behind me for a few exits at 55mph. Just another day at the job really the only difference being someone in a four wheeler noticed and called the 800# on my back door. Do it many times every day without thinking anything of it. Some drivers it seems won't let off the accelerator come hell or high water, giving some lame excusse about being loaded heavy or having the right of way. I see it as a preventable accident waiting to happen regardless if you had the right of way or not. Who needs the extra paperwork? Not me.

    Everett Thanks this.
