The way I see it I don't care what the other guys are getting to do it, I need this much and if that's not going to work for you call somebody else.

Work on a low margin and see where you're at when the first problem comes up and you have no money. Your living costs are a minor expense.

Can't even see what the point of wanting to work for a low margin is. Tons of jobs with far less of a workload where you can make crap money!

    Ruthless Thanks this.

cut rates add as many trucks as you can even if you are netting 1 cent a mile it will be millions if you get enough miles ........ that's the jb hunt theory on the trucking business and look how well it works for him .... think big and think cheap or get out of the way

What's 3 percent of say 20 to 40 grand a week? You really wanna give that up?

Plus if I understood right bid cheaper but let the truck have more?

You ain't a finance major are you?

Can shippers not have multiple brokerage contacts? The format that I've seen when I worked at a brokerage was the shippers email out the lanes and prices available to the email list, which is comprised of carriers and brokers.

I know I'm gonna regret saying this but I'm 18. I've been working the past year to afford the surety bond, insurance as well as overhead while I'm at university.

What problems would require a large amount of money? Legal issues I'm guessing, along with anything that can cause your insurance rates to raise due to declining credit? Along the lines of getting scammed, that's why I was going to go down the ropes of non-recourse factoring.

What kind of insurance do brokers carry? Is it for paper cuts or something?
