It's a cell signal so anywhere your cell phone has the most bars, especially if your phone is VZW also.

I just put my Novatel and Cradlepoint router on the upper shelf in my sleeper. I need my Wilson cell antenna at home more than in the truck.

I would think since the MiFi is a router besides a modem that there is an Admin page you can bring up in your browser to set parameters. I would guess that it should show signal strength. Then again maybe Novatel router software isn't as good as Cradlepoint. (?)

I never looked at my MiFi.. but it does require a dial up number or #77 to connect to the bank of routers in the telco.

It does have a admin page and does show signal strength. I have it velcroed on the passanger visor with the visor down all the time and that seemed to help the signal. Took a look at wilsons web site and thinking about getting a attena also to see if it works better.

Has anyone of you truckers tried millenicom wireless service yet, and if so does it work in just about every state you shutdown in? I have already tried verizon and they are too expensive, even tho i do get good service with them when i was trucking, but on down time i like to watch hulu and other websites that offer free tv shows and movies and you just don't get enough gigs with verizon to do that.:biggrin_25513:
