Couple years ago, the transmission housing in my ‘95 Suburban cracked and lost all fluid. Seeing as we were out of town at the time, we quickly found a Jasper dealer, 2 days later, back in operation.
Didn’t think of it till after we got home, but should have swapped out for a 4-speed on the floor. Would have required a bit of fabrication for linkage, but doable.

I used to have a 95 Impala, and when the Transmission on it gave me the slightest indication it MIGHT have a problem, the parts I had been saving since I bought it came into play. It got a T56 6 speed from a TransAm. With a couple other minor tweaks, that heavy assed car accelerated like you wouldn't believe, and in 6th gear, got pretty close to 30mpg, with kind of a low rumble from the exhaust. Only thing was, unless I was going over 70, I had to downshift to climb any decent hill. 6th gear in that Transmission was like 0.65:1, and with the factory 3.08:1 rear, that thing wasn't turning much over idle if I was going slower than 65 or so. You couldnt even use 6th in that car if you were doing 60, it would just start shaking. I had to learn that one on the fly, the car it came out of had a 4.11 rear end when I bought it (factory was a 3.42)

I learned on my dad's 1970 Ford pickup, granny 4 speed with a 460 and four wheel drive. It had a bench seat, and I was in hog heaven sitting there with no seatbelt on at 5 or 6 years old moving his shifter for him when he'd hit the clutch. I took it into town for the first time without sitting on Pop's lap when I was 8 years old.

I guess times have changed, but #### that's a good memory.

I'd never drive a Mini, and I've never owned a new vehicle in my entire life. But if one of the big three would offer a standard in a 3/4 ton again, I'd be lining up.

Who doesn't love a mini? The classic mini and the super Cooper's are some of the most bad ### cars when u customize them... 2000 - 2005 is probably my favorite era tho

I honestly like them, and they look like fun, but I'm 6'2" and close to 245 pounds. I'm not sure I could fit. I've heard they're somewhat roomy, but they're also low to the ground.

At 6' 1" and about 210 I fit in and was surprised at how much room they had. A bit low, would depend on how bad your knees are for discomfort level.

I just don't want a BMW car let alone a BMW step child car.

    Yep
There is PLENTY of room in the front seat if a mini.
And OMG it’s faster than you would ever imagine .

A car designed by BMW, and assembled in England using a Peugeot engine .
What could possibly go wrong ?

i would never and have never bought a brand new car .
The mini the wife bought was 10 years old , had plenty of tasteful mods like ceramic pads and drilled rotors , expensive tires , borla exhaust HiD headlights etc
All done by its 71 yr old female owner who sold it because she broke her shoulder and couldn’t drive a manual anymore .

It’s sad that you can’t get a manual anymore in a pickup nor in a corvette .
They finally make a V-8 Fiero and you can’t get it with a manual transmission !
