I think we're approaching this the wrong way.

Awhile ago some woman's group in California wanted all trucks banned during daylight hours.

Everyone should have went," That's a great idea. Let's do it now."

So we should all write in and say make it 55.

There's simply places that won't get vegetables or ice cream that's all.

Just imagine everyone is going to have to post up at pretty much the same distances.

You think truck stops are a cluster f now?

Yea buddy. The vacation is going to be real.

Wonder how many will just walk? A lot.

Speed limit for trucks makes more since for revenue like you said. Back when Tejas was still 60 myself and everyone I knew got tickets for running 65-70. Since they lifted it 15 or so years ago none of us have gotten a speed ticket. I run around 68 99% of the time in my old stuff cause thats the sweet spot in all of them. But throttling up to speed limits is a nice option to have for obvious reasons.

Lol, as another said before, we should all just do the posted minimum. Run legal at 40mph and let the 4 wheelers stuff themselves under our trailers. Maybe once the Lawyers start suing the states tunes will change.

An email I got from OOIDA this morning:

FMCSA is considering a rule that would mandate speed limiters on commerical trucks. The latest proposal seeks additional information about whether CMVs over 26,000 pounds equipped with an electric engine control unit should be restricted to certain speeds. Previous proposals have suggested 60, 65, or 68 MPH.

OOIDA encourages you to submit comments on FMCSA’s speed limiter notice. We unequivocally oppose any action that would mandate speed limiters. Studies and research have proven that traffic is safest when all vehicles travel at the same relative speed. Limiting trucks to speeds below the flow of traffic increases interactions between vehicles and will lead to more crashes. Any efforts to mandate speed limiters will take more control out of the driver’s hands and penalize small businesses. Use the links below to tell FMCSA why Speed Limiters do not improve highway safety!

The public comment period is open until Friday, June 3rd. Please respond directly to this email if you have any questions regarding Speed Limiters. Thank you!

HOGAN Transport (?) Had Their Trucks At 62 mph. That was in '18, Probably The Same Nowadays.
Harris-Teeter Road Trucks Were Set At 64 mph.
    Swift-Knight is what, 68 - 70?
Davenport & Sons, All Trucks Set @ 64 (Sanford, NC).

IF Trucks Have an E.C.U., (E.C.M.??).
Don't Most Vehicles Nowadays Have Factory E.C.U. (E.C.M.)'S (along with all the other Electrical Boondoggery)??

So With The f.m.c.s.a.'s incredibly normal stupidity AGAIN, ON TIME Pick Ups & Deliveries Will Be "When I CAN Get There".
Local Routes, Not bothered too much, depending on distances.

LOTSA MORE EXCITING MERGE TIMES TO BE HAD as well Lane Changes, Hills, Mountains, Etcetera.

When is enough finally going to be enough? So if you're just cruising along in the right lane, doing your governed and mandated speed of..,let's say 65mph, and your logs are all in check, you're doing everything right by the book, and some dummy in a SUV slams into your trailer because he was doing 82mph and not paying full attention, that accident still gets recorded because there is a tow away, and most likely injuries, then here comes the lawyer, "Well if Mr. Joe Truck Driver had left just 5 minutes later my client would have never been put into this dangerous situation, his logs clearly showed his rest break was complete, he DID NOT have to leave at the very moment he did. If he had left 5 minutes later we would not be here in court today" and then 12 of our so called "peers" all shake their heads in unison thinking, "yeah that could have been any of us, or a family member, we can't let them get away with this"

Think that is too far fetched? I don't.

My comments of opposition have been made.
