    It happens all the time.
Company A contracts Company B to deliver a load out of a yard they can't cover for on time delivery.
Company B then uses the newly mty trailer to run some of their own loads. They know a big carrier will take a while to figure it out.

Exactly right. We lease out part of our yard to a couple of megas. They use the space for repowers, short term storage, trucks on home time etc. Mostly dry vans.
Sometimes it's fun to call them and remind them that trailer number whatever has been in the yard for six months and never moved. They don't seem too interested.
More than once the trailer registration has expired and they'll send us the new paperwork and ask if we can put everything right again. We do.
They can leave them there forever as far as we're concerned. Pays the same. Pays good, too.
LOL...we don't do van work anymore but if we ever needed to borrow one I know of a couple.

If you want VA Ham done right visit Mt Vernon, they have a eating place on the property. I think it's reservations though because it's somewhat limited.

As far as several threads popping up about a trucking company, Im just going to lay on the floor and laugh. The mods will be along shortly to clean up this mess.

I also thought about certain claims of being forced this force that forced whatever. Blah. Spare me.
