Got good new to day. Got my call from Millis to day in got approve just want to know some is the caterville school is?
Day two on the range had us working on more backing and after lunch David set the course up for the six of us to run. The course consists of a straight back, a blind side parallel, a sight side offset back, a blind side offset back, a sight side parallel, and a 90 degree alley dock in that order. It was good practice and everyone picked up fast on the course and the individual backing manuvers. Towards the end of the day David replaced the straight back with a serpentine back to give us an additional challenge. Everyone is doing good, but more practice never hurt anyone. The other six guys were out with Greg working on road driving and getting more experience before their trip to Black River Falls sometime this week.
We fine tuned our backing skills by running through the course all day today. Some of the manuvers are getting a little easier and some seem to get harder, but i think that is all in our overthinking of the manuever. We found out at the end of the day that we are going out for some on-road driving tomorrow morning to give us something different than backing for a little while. Also to get us ready for our trip to Wisconsin on Monday.
It will be almost 1k miles If I remember correctly. I imagine if one instructor is with the first day they could run 14 hrs swapping out students every couple hours. Leaving 2-4 hours the second day depending on how slow the first day goes But I would guess he will split it even and make it a 2 equal 8 hour or so day trip up with a day in BRF than 2 days back .... you will get to experience Mt. Eagle , fun slow climb up and nice and curvy on the way down. Shouldn't be too bad I doubt they will have you pulling a beer load
I think the way they have it planned is leaving at about 5:30 monday morning and driving the whole way, or into Wisconsin at least, then getting a hotel and starting back on Tuesday. I don't think we will have a load, but i'm not sure. If not then i think we may pull the recruiting trailer. Monteagle is a challenge, been over it in a truck before, but never behind the wheel of one.
