So Chinatown. Are you suggesting he needs to go back to school? ;)

Contact KLLM and see if a refresher is an option. A lot of schools used to offer them, but I know at least some have stopped in recent years.

Yes, the rules have changed since he gave up his CDL back in 2012.

I was out for 7 years. Kept the medical card and CDLs. Still had to start back over. Had to do the whole trainer circus and all.
Odds are you will have more experience than your trainer. That in itself might make the trainer insecure and turn him against you. Hide your cards. Shut up. Do not ever mention anything to the trainer about previous experience. If you drove truck in 2012, today is a cakewalk to what trucking use to be., BUT Shut your mouth! The last thing you need is some insecure, fragile “trainer” whose only been driving for a year or less feel threatened by having someone with previous experience in the truck.

“Why are you talking trainer, Six?”

Because it’s the hardest part of the whole process. You will ace the school. You will blow through the trucking company orientation. The difficulty will be with the trainer.

    Luck in battle.

Thanks for the advice. I drove for 10 years OTR and regional bulk tank so I feel I will have no problems getting back in a truck again.

    Chinatown Thanks this.
