The thing about them reporting to DAC/HireRight is #1 There is NO ONE in the offices to write any reports to begin with! And I don't think the owner Doug Pielsticker is going to waste his time filing 1400 reports and hopefully no one will take the job either!

Now if for some stupid reason Arrow DOES file on 1400 trucks each driver will be able to rebuke the report and use the official news release and any other news reports about Arrow drivers being stranded but I think DAC/HireRight just might not let anyone report on the drivers as it's now common knowledge that the company is closed and a closed company i a non-entity and probably cant file anyway!

I also think some of the senior drivers and maybe dispatchers and office personnel who might read this thread and post get together and send HireiRght a letter informing them what Arrow or actually
Doug Pielsticker did to the drivers bouncing the paychecks and informing the drivers to park the trucks and find a way home!

Me I don't thik the drivers have to worry about DAC/HireRight

Good luck to you guys and Gals who got bent over this
    and
Please try to have a Merry Christmas when you DO get home!

You are absolutely WRONG! Arrow lost their comdata exactly on 10-15-2008. I know, as I was working for them when they lost it! Comdata refused to allow them to use their services because they were WAY behind in payment. They switched to TCH. I quit them in October of this year because I looked up their finances on-line via a pay website.

I then deduced that they were in BIG trouble financially, and said f##% this. I was right.
I'll tell you what just happened; Just prior to folding, the day before, they shut off all fuel cards. This left many Arrow drivers stranded, as some of them had little fuel to drive with.

Then, the lease holders-Kenworth, Freightliner, and International, started to repo all of their trucks. They cleaned out all of the Arrow terminals very quickly, of their trucks.
Then they demanded that the remaining trucks be taken to their respective outlets-Freightliner, Kenworth, and International.

Arrow sent qualcomm messages to the drivers that were stranded, that they bring the trucks either to their terminals, or to the lease outlets, or they would charge them with THEFT!
This is outrageous, as they knew full-well that many of the drivers could go nowhere without additional fuel!

How can a driver possibly do this without fuel, unless they themselves, put their own money into this???
Three weeks prior to all of this crap, their checks started bouncing, effectively ensuring that the drivers had little or NO money.

This is a despicable situation, caused by the management of Arrow.
Here they screw the very people who enabled Arrow to make money to begin with!

I talked to several drivers during the past 3 days, and to say they were stunned, would be an understatement!
I have never heard of any trucking company being this heartless and cruel.

Can you imagine if you or I were to write THOUSANDS of dollars of bad checks? We would be in jail!:biggrin_25513:

Saw a documentary about the ruling class in America, a comment was made that I think sums it up:

"The comfort of the rich depends on the abundance of the poor"

I want to take a crack at this myself please.

1.) Company shut its doors, from the aritcles I read from several news station websites the drivers were told they had to turn the trucks in or have theft charges filed against them. Now A.) How do you do that to your driver when you shut your fuel cards off, tell the drivers to find their own way home and all of this? Not to mention, they didnt have much freight to begin with. So, those drivers probably have a few pennies coming to them on their checks, assuming they even got those. How could they even possibly claim abandonment, theft, or anything else against the driver with their publicly well known way of shutting down and all the circumstances associated with this crap they pulled?

2.) I agree with the person saying sell all the equipment on the truck. You have to do what you have to do now to get yourself home. Because Arrow (like always, and like most of these big companies) does not care about its drivers. This has to be the shining light to all drivers that they really do not care about you. They dont even care about their equipment. If you cant tell that much seeing their trucks, I dont know what to tell ya.

3.) Can they really get abandonment on them with this being the case in their particular circumstance? I really want to know. I will lose my mind if so. If they do that just goes to show how messed up this whole DAC report crap, and the power these companies have to do just whatever and NOBODY really care about the issues the drivers face.

I personally worked for them, one year ago today I was in Houston getting my truck. It took me all of a month to wake up and see they do not care, and they would not last much longer. I honestly thought they would last another 2-3 years. And I have been here and there. My resume is a little lengthy. I wont lie. But so far two companies I said adios too have went under. Others I had my reasons for leaving. Sad that crap that companies pulling crap like this could really cripple your career just because you did what you had to get home. That is if they will get away with putting abandonment on drivers who left their trucks because the company would not pay for the fuel to have them returned to Freightliner or the terminals.

Sad thing though, and we all know its true. When those people re-open someday under another name in a year or two hard up drivers will be working for them again. Forgetting all about this cruel inhumane treatment to their drivers before. I hope that wont be the case, but I am sure some newbies will come along and drive the ragged out equipment they will have then. I really feel sorry for those drivers and their families. Wish all of them a Merry Christmas, or as merry as it can possibly be.

Actually I don't blame any of the government or presidents in this.

Look at ALL of the major companies where Daddy let the kids take over. Start with Arrow! Daddy died in 2001! In fact Doug Pielsticker probably hold the record of running a major company into the groung the fastest! Now THATS a record I would NOT want hanging o around MY neck!

We can go back and look at old CXI, late of Springfield, MO. Most of you older drivers from the 90's remember them. Dad retired and the Boys took over and they got in trouble, got sued by KW and they changed their name to Willie jean Express or WWW, but still the company finally died about 6 months ago. But it took the kids almost 12 years to kill the company off!

Look at CR England. Daddy's gone and whats happening?
    Knight?
    JB Hunt?
Need I keep on going? It's a trend where the children were given a big arsed toy that made money and wow look at them go! Now they are all turning into bottom feeders that the only thing they have in common with poor ole Dad is blood and the company!

Prediction: All the above and others mentioned will all be gone in 3-5 years if the kids got hold of the wheel! It's a given! Look at their performance!

To help them on the way away to Bye Bye Land I'd quit them in droves! Those working for these companies can see where they are getting bent big time! Why stay and keep on being done wrong? Yes you have to keep the family going but be real. Are you ACTUALLY making enough to feed yourself on the road HEALTHY food and pay the bills at home or are you barely making ends meet?

I can tell you that when a major goes belly up like Arrow, JB, Knight or CR England their freight will be swept up and the companies that do will need more drivers! But it's time to hit the strike forum and think about bringing at least ONE of these bottom feeders down and I guarantee that the others, when the drivers tell them that the same CAN and WILL happen to them if they do not clean up their acts WILL clean up! I have a dollar and a donut that says it can happen! Would YOU want your money tree to get chopped down?

Think about it. This is the drivers chance to take control!

    Good Luck
    Rollover
    and Merry Christmas

Another saying is even the King needs a plow boy! One hand washes the other. Keep the wealthy happy and the workers will be much happier. The left side demonize wealthy people too much. Meanwhile most of the leaders of the libs are FAT CATS too! Movie stars, lawyers and such.

Most wealthy people are good people. Greedy people are not included in that class. When you allow wealthy people to remain wealthy and grow their wealth, they tend to spread it around. You take their wealth and they just move somewhere warm, sip on margaritas and tell the workers to go pound sand.

Let the rich get richer! Even the poor in this nation have it pretty #### good! True poverty well, look at India, China, Africa and to our south!

People just don't get it! The more you take from wealth, the more the poor get poorer because the wealthy cut off the gravy train!

Actually you can ship fairly large items with Greyhound, when I was a kid in school I worked for a company in Burbank and we would ship 100 lb boxes of adhesive wax all over the country on Greyhound. You have to del & p/u at the bus terminal but they take large items all the time. Way cheaper than LtL truck. Still would be a hassle though.

Another idea before you surrender the truck and trailer, maybe a mechanics lien depending on the state you live in. You maybe driving your own truck home. It is possible espically if its one of the older trucks that may be paid off. Also a mechanics lien in CA superceeds then finance companies right of ownership, they would have to pay you off to get the truck. Maybe worth checking out. Damiler will be busy for quite sometime looking for trucks and trailers. If the shipper contacts you some how I do not believe you can hold the load, I believe that you would have to allow them to pickup there cargo. Check out the alternatives.

They charge you extra for that weight you lug around. When I first started I was bussed to my Mentor. I had overpacked a little I suppose lol and I paid for it dearly having to lug that crap around three different terminals.

Nobody is going to help you and it's not like they have carts for you to lug around. Now when i got my own truck, I learned to downsize but crap still accumulates. Granted, you can sell your cb and gadgets etc. but you're still going o be luggin around some crap lol. If it's more than two bags you're gonna be hatin' life!

I'll never go Greyhound again my friend!

I would probably be so pissed and upset that I would want to strip the truck but really two wrongs don't make a right. But with that being said if I was somewhere and out of fuel and money I would do what I had to do to get back home.
