How many wrecks do you think have now happened due to drivers trying to out run their elogs?

Why are they trying to outrun their ELOGS? They should know well before they take the load. no need to that, Its easy as pie.

If they had an accident for doing something else along the way. Perhaps a txt from the girlfriend, boyfriend, or wife, that is something else.

It takes 20 driving hours to get somewhere, it takes 20 hours plus any "rush hour" or accidents, plus anyplace I can stop for the night. Why don't we charge the rate for how long it realistically takes? Because someone will do what ever it takes, for less money, because they "can" get around it...

Why should everyone else bend over because a few "can"?

Fine if they can, they should just keep quiet about it. Nobody needs to know.

Paper logs are such a joy. Keeping recap of last 8 days worked tells you all you need to know next 7 days whats possible in terms of hours and miles you can run. Sometimes it would take two days to get back enough hours to work a full trucking 24 hour day.

Now Current HOS is a pain as our esteemed Rulers seek to legislate out any freedom of action drivers have. Eliminating the so called "Captain of the ship" feature of trucking. They decide when you work and sleep you don't.

What if ELD’s went away, and we went back to paper? But it’s similar to Australia, where your log books are numbered and assigned to you, and the pages are numbered, and fines for falsifying or making errors can run into the tens of thousands of dollars?

Yeah, in 15 minute blocks so the LEO's don't get confused.

Wouldn't it be nice to only log 8 minutes for fuel if it only took 8 minutes?

Or perhaps being 76 miles from where you really are legally supposed to be?

Roadside Bear: "This seems alot of miles sonny.."

Me: "Oh that? Eh I wouldnt know. This here map is ok for this logging business, see for yourself."

Roadside bear: *** Considers the situation ***

Grab a coffee it might be a while.
