Dallas yard? Didn't know we had one in Dallas , I know of the one on Laredo. Texas sometimes is a blackhole for freight, you might end up with a caterpillar load shortly .
I sat for 2.5 days an they sent me over to a cat plant to pick up a trailer full of engine cradles going to illinois, I may be wrong an there prolly waiting for a trailer to come up from Mexico. In done with my 28 days an I'm stuck up in Tacoma,wa . Dispatch can't seem to get me to a terminal -.-"
So would they release me if trainer notified safety I can barely drive this truck? Im really not comfortable driving.
It's people like ya'll that work for slaves rate that everyone else suffers...Crash and Roll Stunt Team, look out. At .21 cents a mile your off your ####### rocker, you even admit the pay is sub par but tell yourself its your path to more $$$, what you don't realize is companies like the one your working for are driving rates so low here soon everyone will make .21 cents a mile...
I am a rookie in this game we call trucking, but I know that other companies will not dare to try and pay .22 CPM. You ever hear of "STRIKES" if every company said by the end of this month they are all paying .25 CPM to every driver by August there would not be ANY trucks on the road unless you are talking about .21 CPM for all rookies then maybe just a Lil bit I can see that happening, but these companies will have to be paying for schooling also. For me had I had $2,000 I would be at US Truck Driving School in Michigan with my pre-hire to Con-Way since I don't have it I'm here at CRST and yes once I get my CDL & OTR experience to me that's priceless and yes it's my path to a better future. Can't complain about crap when u don't have crap!!
Ok, thought I would update this a bit. I am in my second week of school here in Marine City, Mi and so far so good. To me being here is far better than being in Iowa going to Kirkwood Community College. I get about 2 hours of driving each day plus we practice straight line backing, alley docking and right turns. The best part I like is once you get your permit they throw you in a truck and teach you shifting. There's 3 instructors and all are pretty cool if you listen and do what they say, but lose focus or not listen to what they are teaching you then your ear is in for a real treat lol. If everything go as planned I will be ready for my test next Friday and have my CDL in hand. I plan to study over the weekend my pre-trip so that I'm perfect on it and all I have to do next week is touch up on my skills.
