The good thing about ELDs is that they are tracking miles and paint routes taken. At least mine does. (Motive, formerly known as Keep Truckin) Before ELDs, I had to recreate routes I took and sometimes it was a pain in the ### and time consuming. There were software aids like PC miler but still it was some backoffice work to do. I never believed in marking down mileages read off the odometer , every time I passed a state border either.
