My journey with Dart

Just curious, if they're vampires & your not impressed, why are you still there?

 

Any company that takes that much of the top is a vampire to me, but there are a lot of companies that do it. None the less, they have guys that are quite successful. THAT is why I'm still here.

As for the sign on bonus that was previously mentioned, they state it is paid out over the next 50k mi, but I haven't seen any paperwork stating so, nor the first month's payments either. It's on my list of items to discuss, but I don't count on anything that isn't in writing.

 

Let me know about your bonus? I've got 8 months in & still haven't seen a nickel. It is a very good company once you get through the week of unorganized hell your currently in. I wish you a lot of luck. Should've paid more attention to your earlier posts, I was there yesterday for training, anyway good luck.

 

I am looking into leasing with dart I am currently with a MEGA carrier and from what I have been reading Dart sounds way better. my question is with the maintenance account can you take money from it at any time or do they give it to you when you have a repair at darts shops only?

 

You can go anywhere as long as it's a real shop. Everything I've done so far has not been an issue.

 

And money is strictly for service & maintenance work

Well to update everyone, I'm still here. This is week 4 and things are alright. Load planning and driver hours utilization is not their strong suit, to say the least, but this very well could be isolated to the city division. The excuse is that 3 people have to manage over 200 drivers... I've been losing just about a full day of running each week. I run m-f, home on weekends, and could easily do 20% more each week if my time would be utilized better. That being said, the people are decent. Freight is decent, and generally under 20k. First two weeks were around $1400 net. Third week was $1700 net. This week will be shorter because I'm going to MATS for the weekend, tickets courtesy of Dart.

As for the truck, I scrubbed it 3 times now and almost got the smoke smell out. Other than that, it's been pretty good, but it should be.

Good to hear! Scheduling does tend to suck but it all works out.

 

Hey Jimmy- I've been told to use vinegar to get old smoke smells out. Just mix vinegar with water and wipe everything down. The vinegar smell will go away after a few hours and will absorb the smoke smell. I tried it on a car I bought and it worked
