I can take as many days off as I want and they will get me home whenever I need but the problem is, I literally can’t afford that because none of those payments stop when I’m home and what I make during those crazy long weeks on the road is ridiculous.

They didn’t promise anything. I talked to a few drivers before applying and they seemed to be happy.

Always demand to see pay statements of other drivers and/or documentation of what loads pay at a carrier.

If everybody refuses to provide that information simply say I need evidence and the confidence wherever I go I can make money.
If you refuse to help me achieve that well there's countless other carriers out there and someone will step up.

Once you have experience you don't have to sell yourself, make the carrier step up to the plate for you.

Lol. I said “generously” because every company is different. They always start out with a good week to play with your entrepreneurial spirit.

My last 3 paychecks. Keep in mind, they are BI-WEEKLY.

Sigh. I'd tell you there are a lot of us out here still getting paid when the truck stops moving but you'd never believe me. Mileage hunters are a special breed I guess.

Why is 70 miles per hour a pro if you’re paying for the truck shouldn’t you be the one who decides what it’s governed at?
