I spent most of my career on the east coast. NYC, Boston, jersey, etc. Been there, done that, had the chowdah. It's where I grew up, learned how to drive and more importantly learned how to back. The people in the Northeast are the most real, nicest (trust me) people you'll ever meet. When running the northeast you have to plan ahead and go with a good attitude. It's not that big of a deal. Especially the "dreaded" New York City. If you can run Chicago, NYC is a breeze. Plus better pizza
As I remind myself every time I park next to one, as I am now. I'm COLD, Joe!! And my former colleague is idling. Neener neener.
There's a nice little perk to driving the Northeast here. You get that $75 bonus everything you pick up & deliver in it. NYC is $100 extra as you know. The list of U.S. that voluntarily go there isn't too long so it's good money for nothing too out of the ordinary. We primarily pick up & the Brooklyn Army Terminal so it's easy in & out. Something to mull over.
Mull mull mull. My last three trips to NYC involved taking garbage from the Bronx to a dump in Ohio. My tarps smelled like the garbage for days after, even after heavy rain. That and the miserable traffic kinda spoiled my desire to go there. I hate chicago's rush and I hate NYC's rush just as much.
