That sounded entertaining. Sounds like RBX is a pretty flexible company too.

Hi I been looking for a company after I got out of school. RBX looks good in my book after looking at other ones. You guys on here have given a lot of info on this company that answers a lot of question for me. Bowhunter3714 keep up with the messages here and have a safe travel. Hope to be able to join this company in the next month. Over and out..

They are flexible. They understand the Drivers are the back bone of this industry and without Drivers freight don't move. But the back bone has branch's extending off to the sides. There's Fleet Managers, Load Planners, Sale's Team, Operations, Maintenance, as well as many others departments that are required to make a quality work environment. Everyone has to work together. If one department slacks off it affects the entire company. This is with any business. This is another reason I chose RBX. Their small, no door in the entire building is closed unless of course theirs a meeting going on. Everyone in the building knows each other very well and has the ability to step up and assist one another when needed in order to keep things flowing. This is how I see it from a drivers/my point of view.

I hate to hear that. That may have something to do with restrictions placed on the company by the insurance company but I'm not sure. Keep looking for a small company, you may run across one. I'm sure one of the Mega Carriers can work with you on this issue but I personally would chose a mega carrier as a last option.

I'm sure you will like RBX. I did a lot of research before I made my decision to join RBX. If you haven't applied yet, I would submit an appellation to them and follow up with a phone call the next day. That's not just to RBX. That's to any company on your prospective list. Its a process and may take a few weeks for everything to fall into place. Good luck and be safe.

Update: After I delivered in Monroe OH I picked up in Addyston OH and took that load to Wichita KS. Spent the night at a little gas station with room for maybe 8 trucks. After I delivered that load I went up to McPherson KS, picked up a load going to FT Worth TX. From FT Worth I went to Farmers Branch TX. Might as well say Dallas. Traffic/Construction there, always has been and always will be a nightmare. In Farmers Branch I picked up a load that had 3 stops. First I unloaded in Joplin MO. Then in Branson MO and last was Springfield MO. These loads were from a store called Tuesday Morning. I told my Fleet Manager when he called my (so I'm picking up in Farmers Branch today with 3 stops but they don't deliver until next Tuesday?). He laughs and said no the name of the Shipper is Tuesday Morning. Well I had never herd of any stores called Tuesday. LOL. I looked them up on Google maps to see how I was going to approach these little strip malls. It wasn't to bad. The load was only around 20 thousand pounds so I slide my tandems all the was forward and made my deliveries without a hitch. From their I was preplanned to go from Springfield MO to Bloomfield MO and then on to south Florida. Didn't happen. Friday evening my fleet Manager made sure I was under a load in order to have priority getting into the shop. The clutch switch went out on the truck and I haven't shut it down in 4 days. I pulled my truck into the shop and the Mechanic hooked up the computer to run a fault code check and a couple of other things came up and the Mechanic told me that the truck needed the fault codes fixed before he would allow me to take it out on the road. I like the fact that our Mechanics care about their work, the trucks and mostly us the drivers. He told me he did not want me to get out there on the road and break down. So I told the night dispatch and he took me off the load and I went home until Tuesday. Tuesday I came back to the yard and my load assignment took me to Chicago IL. I don't mean the out skirts of the city. Use Google maps and find I-55 Exit 290, Damen Ave and 35th Street. I'm about a 3 mile in from Lake Michigan. This was a night run. I left last night and arrived this morning. After my 10 hour break I'll be picking up in Aurora Il and going to Kansas City KS. That's about it. Everyone be safe and take care.

I forgot to mention, my miles for 5 day that week were a little over 2400. If I would have been able to take the Florida load I would have ended the week with close to 3000 miles again.

Well right know its 22 minutes after midnight. I'm just outside of Des Moines Iowa. Had to stop for my 30 minute break. I'm bored. Well gotta go.

Update: I had picked up in Aurora IL, it was an all night run to Kansas City KS. Then I dead headed to Blue Springs MO, picked up a load going back to Aurora IL that evening. Another late night run. On my way back up to Illinois the craziest thing happened. I saw a UFO. No not a flying saucer, lol. An object. This is something I have only seen on shows like (the worlds dumbest drivers). It was right at 01:30 in the morning at mile marker 112 if I remember correctly. In that area it's 3 lanes in both directions. I was rolling along in the center lane. There were no car's around and the deer seem to be acting as if they wanted to test the strength of my front bumper. Know hitting a deer in my pickup or car is no big deal. Heck, I can gut, skin and debone an adult deer in less then 20 minutes. However I'm not carrying my 12 inch fillet knife and I don't have a chest full of ice. Besides, my Freightliner would make it hard to debone meat with the bones shattered so I figured I'd play it safe. Anyway, I saw a set of head light coming at me. It was still off at quit a distance so I began to slow down while checking in my right mirror for an out. Well all at once I seen head lights coming up on my right side and with a quick glance forward and to my right again I could tell the car coming up on my right side must have been running close to 120 mph. Yes I'm guessing here but the time between the two mirror checks was less then 2 seconds. With no way out I slowed down really slow and on my 3rd check in the right mirror the car hauling tail had disappeared. As I looked forward again I shifted over to my right as the UFO that turned out to be a car passed me on my left. I checked my left mirror and the car that was coming up on my right had locked their breaks, spun around and headed south along with the fruit cake that passed me on my left. It turned out to be a Patrol Officer. I'm guessing someone who had passed this car earlier and dialed 911. I must have said holy Sh** 8 or 9 times in disbelief after it was all over. From there I went up to Milwaukee WI and picked up a load going to Tulsa OK. As you can see I've been running night's since I came out Tuesday. Its taken me close to three days to adjust my sleep pattern. After I dropped it Tulsa I had a pre-loaded trailer to pick up in Tulsa going to Arkansas. The trailer was ready but the paper work was not. I arrived at 03:05 and didn't leave until 07:17. The place wouldn't give me a signed Detention form so I called night dispatch to let them know. The dispatcher on duty said don't worry about it. Just put your in and out times on the BOL and turn it in. So I did and off I went to the Flying J to scale my load, get a shower and some sleep. The next morning I was up and on my way to Arkansas. After unloading there I dead headed back up to the yard in Springfield MO for the night. From there I went up the road and picked up a Con-Way load going to Kansas City KS. After the Con-Way load I picked up another load in Kansas City KS going to Springfield MO. My Fleet Manager is trying to keep me in or around the Missouri area know because I'm bringing my truck in to the shop on Thursday for some new steer tires and then heading to the house. I'll be heading back out early Sunday morning and work on a 3,000 plus mile week for my first week and then the second hopefully will be in the range of 2,600 to 3,000 miles. That's about it. Going to watch the movie, This is 40. Everyone be safe.
