The Cummins parts catalogue calls for a 3068473 gasket which is 0.032" thick.
It also calls for a plain key.
The engine was factory rated at 370 to 475 HP.

So with a new cam and cam followers from atl diesel just put .032 and call it good? It had .027 when i pulled it apart but it has been rebuilt before.

Yes That should work. The original gaskets measured 0.027" they would probably have compressed a bit.

If you know the history of it then sure, you can just put the same gaskets back in

If it's been rebuilt who know if they did it right and timed it correctly. My engine was 'inframed' by a shop before I bought it. After it blew up I rebuilt it and found that the gaskets were thicker than they needed to be, making the timing too advanced. I don't know if that was because they didn't time it correctly or if replacing the cam and rebuilding the followers changed the thickness needed
