One thing to consider on this thread for all parties.

If she is not telling the whole truth or not is not the issue. The issue is that this industry can and has done this type of thing before. No other job can do this.

If you are traveling with a job from California and are in New York and they fire you, they return you to your home. It is a requirement or you would see people getting canned and hitchhiking back.

There is no reason on the earth, that the company could not have returned her to the terminal. NONE.

The employee that kicked her out and the night dispatcher dropped the ball.

The driver is an employee, not a slave or piece of equipment.

The end result, is that we as drivers need to get proper treatment.

Ya its a scarey and a tough thing to go thru especially during the freezing cold. That's when you know you have a lot of support and everyone is willing to lend a helping hand. The driver my boss tricked into following him to to the receiver to fire me quit as soon as he got back to the yard.He could not believe what he was seeing unfolding before his eyes.He called the hotel and paged me.He was going to come pick me up.

I read these additional comments on the phone and just could not believe the number of "drivers" who feel the company did nothing wrong.

It is because of this mindset, that companies have been able to get away with this.

It is quite apparent that the drivers cannot fathom their treatment is not ethical.

Some ppl refuse to believe a company could do such a thing and like carriers, many are just plain ignorant to the fact because they choose to be.

Do not know about other Companies But Navajo is capable in doing this and they will smile as they do it. I am a Former driver of Navajo ran my rear end off and nothing to show for it but a mark on my credit record. Navajo will even pretend to play Doctor and ask a driver to stop taking meds or even take meds that makes you sleepy and drive. They tried to get me to drive that way.

Post your comments in the review area. There is one still on there from Saturday. They are not bright enough to check them all.

    UPDATE: (where's Pj?)

    Good afternoon, Everyone!

(I apologize for not getting to this earlier, things were a bit crazy...)

So, after learning yesterday afternoon that Navajo was not going to come thru (Shocker!), and my CL ride share was a no-show (what??), I dove into Plan C. Checked out busfare and without a promotional code, the total fare was $195 and 28 hours. As I'm way to good to ride the bus, I checked out last minute airfare. Much to my delight, a one-way ticket to Denver, with taxes, came to $136., plus $45 for one checked bag, one carry-on. I bought my ticket--flight out at 3:45 this afternoon, Pacific Standard Time--and checked the Sea Tac airport shuttle. If you made your reservation 12 hours in advance, the shuttle would make a stop in Cle Elum. The shuttle that would get me to SeaTac on time left at 9:45 a.m.; when I called to reserve a seat, it was right around midnight. The reservationist was a nice man named Dennis, and he scheduled the stop. Cost of the shuttle: $30.00. Total cost of my getting to the Seattle airport and back to Denver, $211. So for an extra 16 bucks, I'm back home and walking in my front door by 8:00 tonight! Yay!!

My most excellent sister, Jackie, willing to drive the 1,340 miles to Cle Elum to get me, will be at the airport at 7:15 pm, and will drop me at my vehicle which is waiting for me at the at the Navajo yard. Fourteen miles later, I'm home.

The two other pieces of the logistics pie were getting my stuff home (I can't fathom having to give up any of my personal belongings. I'm funny that way), and getting to the shuttle stop which was about a mile down the road. I called UPS in Ellensburg, and while they don't do pick-ups, corporate will. At 8:00 this morning I hurried to the Safeway across the street and asked for boxes, got enough, bought some packing tape. Back to motel, packed mostly my winter stuff and my bedding. I spoke with the motel owner who told me how far the Shell station was (the shuttle stop) and I figured I could walk it with just my two bags and make it. What I didn't know is that Victor V., a true Knight in Shining Armor, had made a call to the Cle Elum Community Church, and while I was packing my things, I got a call from Dee, offering me a ride to the Shell station! I brought my packed boxes to the front office where they'll sit safe and sound until UPS can pick them up. Dee showed up right on time and dropped me at the station. Less than ten minutes later, I boarded the bus, not believing that I actually might pull this off!

I am now sitting at the Seattle airport and waiting patiently for my flight. What a crazy 12 hours. What a crazy week.

I'm about to lose power on my computer, so I'll check in with you all after bit!

Thanks Everyone!! and be safe out there!

I was thinking "There's a hole in my bucket" -- but yours works too!

Except she quit. She pulled over, refused to complete her task, and basically demanded the company send her a town car stocked with cavier because heaven forbid she ride the grey dog like a commoner!

Navajo...forcing people to buy #### they can't afford since 1980
