^^ Oh yeah, I love you guys dearly; just not something to do "out the door~!" Sheeite..... I've gotta pull a couple of y'all's stuff in my "off" winter months, from United Precast to who knows where. Supposedly secured on the tripods. Right. Not.
I respect the HE!! out of you guys; Y'all are a special breed. Kudos, for sure.

I was just wondering what happened to the Maverick/open deck plan. Boxie C just doesn't sound right.

That part, I know is true.

Ramada. Breakfast and lunch is covered. I went to one day of orientation (I work in their shop, and it was so I could be authorized to drive the trucks off-site) and it was pizza for lunch.

Again, I never drove for them, so I don't know.

Yes, they allow riders and pets. FWIW, even though dogs are supposed to be removed from the trucks before they go to the shop, I've only asked a driver to do this once, and that's because their dog got extremely excited, jumped on my lap, and landed squarely on a part of my anatomy which I'm sure you can figure out without me spelling it out.

If you're in the yard on a Sunday, you'll usually see me in the shop (I work there part-time now). Stay on Nate's good side. There's a company van you can use so long as you put $5 in the tank before you return it (bring a receipt to verify). Or, $2.60 gets you bus fare with a transfer for local buses good for three hours from the purchase time. The 19 bus stops right at Pecos and W. 64th, or, if you don't mind walking a mile, you can catch the 10 at W. 64th and Broadway. Either one southbound will take you to places much more interesting than the drivers' lounge there. If you're down for 34 in Denver, ####ing use those options... there's a lot worth seeing in Denver and the surrounding area... not so much where the yard is located (which has a Denver address, but is actually Adams County). Don't be like that horse's ### who did doughnuts in the company van, whacked a telephone pole while doing them, then had a video of it uploaded to Youtube (by a bystander, I'm assuming).
There are some creepy mother####ers in this industry as a whole. No company is immune from it - Navajo included. Just another reason not to spend your 34 in the drivers' lounge. You want things to do in Denver, restaurants worth checking out, etc, most of us in the shop can point you in the right direction. Nod your head and smile when Nate suggests barbecue places, but don't follow up - barbecue in Colorado is a pitiful excuse for it. There's still good food places to go to.
Never been to any of the other yards, don't know much about them.
You'll most likely get a T680. Autos are filtering in, but it's going to be an inhospitable place for you still if you can't drive a manual. 10 speed is the most common transmission. There are also 9 speeds, and a very low number of 13 speeds, the latter are all assigned to senior drivers. Unless you're running Costco dedicated pulling Rocky Mountain doubles (which you're not going to as a student), you'll have an APU.
If you have piss bottles in your truck, and I have to do any work in the presence of them (e.g., inspecting the CECU to troubleshoot APU issues), they'd better be gone before that truck comes into my bay - I will not hesitate to embarrass you otherwise.

As for the trainees lawsuit and her whole situation, I'm not in the know on that one. Her side of the story is the only one which was ever presented, and, let's be real... we're talking about the same industry where every driver at the truck stop counter next to you swears up and down they were in SEAL Team 6, no matter how painfully obvious they only ever could've been in Meal Team 6. So, one of the first things I learned in my time as a driver was to take everything with a grain of salt, and I'm doing the same here. This is not meant to be a slight against her - wherever she's at now, I hope she's doing well. I think there were some critical details left out, and it happens

    - They are in my list but I gotta put them on hold because my partner decided to go with me with OTR and we're bringing our puppy. Theres no way we can leave him..

So I'm searching a company now that allows pet and rider policy. Some company got rider policy but needs to be immediate family only :-/

    - Do they allow 1 year OTR? What is ur route? I like tanking too.. Thats the reason also why I'm doing OTR so I can jump to tanking.

    - I still love flatbed but because of the rider and pet policy I need to put them on hold. I can't find any company in flatbed that I think I will pass the agility test aside from Maverick. Most flatbed agility test will let you lift 100-120lbs which obviously another deal breaker for me :-/

    - I'm still good with them but I put them on hold coz of the rider and pet policy. Checking other companies now for OTR experience..

If you know any other decent company that allows pet and rider policy for student can you please let me know? Freymiller is also waiting for me..

You could get that at Prime if you don't mind driving slow. But there is a practical problem dealing with tarps, you would need to lift them over your head to stow them on top of the "headache rack" as they don't have storage space/boxes on the trailer and it would be a pain to keep them on the deck all the time.

Chinatown mentioned Pride. They have a flatbed division and run step decks and carry ramps so you will probably be tarping less than a regular flatbed. I don't know much about them, but the drivers I've talked to say they keep moving and don't sit around much. A good thing if your on mileage pay.
