We also do not know if the faster driver had his lights on. I can't tell you how many times I see drivers of cars and trucks running hot in hard rain without lights on.

We don't know all of the details.

I agree, watching the video, i said I dont think he's a trucker, the view appears to me to be to low for a truck anfle to the vehicles and other trucks, my opinion a 4-wheeler with an attitude

Just wondering if anyone actually watched or listened to the video. When he comes up behind the SUV you can see him flash his high beams so he obviously had his lights on, and it sounded like the idiot that tried to just muscle into the fast lane almost causing an accident said there's a cop there (could have said car but I couldn't understand him with all the cursing and freaking out). As for the question of whether he got beat up down the road it's doubtful, most truckers now a days are all talk (not all of them but the ones that are going to kick someones ### probably aren't going to say anything they'll just follow the person and wait for them to stop and get out). That's the way it works around here anyways. This isn't directed at anyone just some general observations.

I have driven in rain like this in Fl. He seemed to have it under control, although I agree he did tailgate the SUV. As for his language, grow up and deal with it. That might be his way of stress relief. If ya bought it , a truck brought it. Roll On.

Face value, I wasn't there, but I do have a name for drivers like that, Billie Bigrigger. As for snow/rain driving, slow it down, to at least somewhere the speed everyone else is going. I'm somewhat familiar with snow, and my skill level is likely higher than some, but when everyone else is slowing down, guess what. I will as well. It's called defensive driving, and seeing the video at face value, I didn't see "Billie" practicing it.
Again, per video, I wouldn't want this guy anywhere near me.:biggrin_25513:

    1) Tailgating the SUV driving in the left lane.
    2) Driving too fast for conditions, potential for hydroplanning.
    3) No horn to warn the other trucker who improperly departed from lane 2 to lane one.
Did our trucker have his headlights on in that rain?

The only thing I see dangerous in the video is the driver coming over on the videographer. It looks like someone parked under the overpass but didn't get far enough over. From what I can tell..

    1. It's not raining that hard. The drivers wipers are on low and towards the end of the clip it's actually starting to slow up.

    2. The driver doesn't appear to be going very fast. For one thing the white lines are going by fairly slow and he's not exactly blowing everybodys doors off.

    3. I didn't see any tailgating. The suv noticed someone gaining on them, they put their signal on(crazy ain't it?) and got over. Pretty standard except they actually used a signal.

Is there a law or unspoken rule that when folks get in the right lane and put their 4 ways on that everybody else has to? Or anybody who doesn't is automaticly a reckless driving billy bigrigger? I've seen worse drivers than that in worse weather than that. If you can see out the window, it's not raining to hard. If you're not comfortable by all means slow down and put your flashers on. If you ain't skeered, adjust your speed accordingly and keep on passing. I would be in the right lane with my flashers on, radio off, wipers on full blast, seat all the way up and forward, hat turned backwards, hands on 10&2, the whole nine yards.

If thats the case then when traffic is running 75mph you should be running with them....? I do know what you're saying. It's very dangerous to fly by a bunch of sissies with their tails tucked firmly between their legs going slow in the right lane.

The only things wrong in that video are......

    1. The idiot in the SUV going slow in the left lane.
    2. The idiots playing follow the leader in the right lane riding each others bumper.

If you're scared......... GET OFF THE ROAD! You're just a hazard!

I remember when trucking wasn't so full of sissies!

i saw nothing wrong other then the driver pushing over also.. chances are he forgot he had his hazards on and put on his turn signal (not forgetting his hazards were still on) and started pushing over.. which in turn makes him wrong.. i dont know why people drive with hazards on like that anywaze.. i was told you can get a ticket for moving with hazards on.. only state i've been in that allowed it was Pa when your climbing a grade.. and he's not driving fast.. for a good little second he was behind and somewhat beside another car just riding. if he was going fast, they were going fast also. yes he ended up passing them, but it's not like it was a 10mph difference. and i also believe he was not in a class 8 vehicle either.. look at his hood as he passes the other trucker... they no where near match up..
