Use the intellapp and be honest there is too many trucking companies not to get hired.

Here's example had a student in my class that was not a u.s citizens didn't read or write English werner hired him.
My brother in law has a dishonor able discharge (worse than any felony) he was also declared mildly retarded hired by Western express.

Try the companies in the oil patch. It may be more local than you want.

Thanks to Chinatown, you are always a great and positive resource.

I would spend the money to get fingerprinted and get a DOJ report= Dept. of Justice. It will tell you exactly what is on your record. At that point I would consider hiring a lawyer to hopefully get an expungement process started. With this, you can legally say no to any conviction questions on any app. When a background check is done the only thing that would show is whatever wasn't able to be expunged, and "no records found" for the successful expungements. I would recommend spending the money on a lawyer as opposed to trying to do it yourself. I know there will be some who will say, you don't need to spend the money on a lawyer, but I personally, would rather have the peace of mind knowing it was done correctly. From what I hear, you won't even need to make any court appearances, let the lawyer do all the filings, motions and such. In this case, time is definitely on your side. Some sins of the past shouldn't always be a life sentence that effect your future. Get rid of those skeletons in the closet, they are keeping you from reaching your full potential.

" You may be done with yesterday, but yesterday may not be done with you "

Congratulations on the efforts of cleaning up your past and staying in forward motion. Best of luck. Keep us posted. I love to hear about success stories from the underdogs !!!!! Be an inspiration to others in similar situations.

To the OP, good luck and what I am going to say isn't against you.

Expunging your record doesn't matter, you can be legally free and clear but there are a few people and companies who do extensive background checks and these convictions always turn up.

May Trucking hires those with a record. As long as it isn't sexual in nature they have no problem hiring those with a record.

Get an expunction via attorney. Should be granted. Wait it out till it clears,go from there. Expunctions take long mind you. Mine barely went through.Im still sorting things out

I work for a great company and we hire drivers with records. Just be up front about it, and dont worry about the ones that say no, there are good jobs out there!

I thank you all for your advice and input. I am just going to start applying and see what happens. I have been enjoying CDL school and look forward to being out there on the road one day.

If one company doesn't want me, another one will. I will be a truck driver.

    Thank you all again.
