    Erie pa to elkhart indiana
    has its own cradle

Sailboat is currently on the cradle in erie.
    Length 30 foot
    Beam 10.83 foot
    Weight 10500 lb
(Draft is 5.5 feet, overal height, keel to top is about 10 feet)

I have the truck (semi) if a trailer is available, but i do regular flatbed, so not quite sure how much specialized stuff i would need.

While im sure the height on a stepdeck would end up fitting, i dont know if thats a wise way to move it.

Its my father's that he had fixed up real nice in 2000 and then had it just sit for 20 years...

Anyone got a reputable boat hauler or any advice on getting a boat trailer?

If the trailer itself is the way to go, and i can find one reasonably priced, might be worth buying the trailer itself. (Its going to a significantly inland location and will absolutely need at least one more move in a year or two)

    questions then are:

    1. can i rent/buy a boat trailer and point me in the direction of such a thing
    2. Anyone have any boat haulers they recommend?
    3. Is anyone here a boat hauler and could give me a price for you to do it?

Im expecting it to not be cheap, probably more than he paid for the boat itself in 1995

There are specialized boat movers. Not many people have the equipment.

Tim Gentry is in the Nashville area I believe. He has been hauling boats for years now.

Is it a wooden boat? A lot of carriers won't touch a wooden boat that big. Too hard to tie down and not hurt anything.

I helped my dad move his (happens to be the same boat) from Au Gres on Lake Huron to his house near Lansing. We made it on a TRI-axle flat bed with and a F250 and took backroads. Had to take time to plan the route and it was North of 14 on height. It was sketch, not gonna lie. But we made it with only minor hiccups. This was twenty years ago.

Two years ago he completed the geat loop at 70 by himself. Not something that interests me but he loved it.

I know TMC has a boat division. I would price it thru them?

You say it's inland but are there any navigable waters to where it's going? If it's in movable condition, might it be worth paying a pilot to motor it to the destination? I'm only asking because it seems like a 30-ft sailboat going to inland waters that are not attached to anything else wouldn't be very common.
