Frisco’s housing market is on fire right now, literally homes that were 150k 5 years ago are selling for over 300k. Because of the housing shortage a decent 2 bedroom apartment will run you 1250-1600$/month.
Local work is crazy easy to find in DFW though!
Mario Sinacola & Sons, Excavating, Inc. | Heavy Civil. Commercial. Mining. Pays well and the commute would be easy.
In all truth bough I would go for a spot outlying the metro rather than in it. Bridgeport TX for example is an hour from Fort Worth, but you can still find affordable homes to rent. It’s also where most of the large quarries are, so you easily find aggregate work with companies like Sunset Logistics Inc. | Interstate Motor Carrier – Innovative Transportation Solutions
They offer a strong weekly minimum, and their equipment is top notch!FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
JRayL Transport has local work around Dallas:

JRayl Transport | Quality Freight Services and Truck ...

Wanting local or regional. Just look up the Cold Storage Facilities. Many of them have signs that they're hiring drivers. That's for local to regional distribution.

I lived in Stein Ranch near Hill country for a while. Then I lived in a 1 bed apartment for 3 years off North Lamar and 51st street. Worked right across the street for Texas government. Watched my rent climb from 650 a month to over 1100 in that time. Salary never went up. So I got priced out and that started my decline. Longer commutes, traffic and such.
Now I enjoy rural area living, but Austin isnt far if I want to go down there. No more sirens and traffic noise. Just mooing cows.
Eventually my area will develop and Ill have to move again.FlaSwampRat and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this.
