Thanks to all of you who have replied so far. I would thank you individually, but I can't seem to find the "thanks" button on the forum.
Look at the bottom left corner of the post...."Thanks"....click on that! The triangle to the right of it is the alert button for nasty posts...brings the moderators to the post to make a call. On the right side.....click and type basically!
I've been with Swift for 2 years now, and I still like them. And they have a terminal in Denver. I'm there often to see my little girls every other home time. As for the backing and training stuff, it will fall into place. You may get a good or bad mentor, so you may need to switch. It happens often. I got a good one right off, so might you. The pay is what you make it. It just depends on how hard you want to push yourself. Me, I am happy with a bit fewer miles but more sanity.
Reroll, i am right there with you man. I am doing the career change thing, same concerns on physical as you. I'm just in a different location, North Carolina. Keep us advised how it goes. I just got out of school last week, need to get going before this shiny new license gets stale. Being older, 50's, with high BMI (probably 35) and neck size over 17", don't want to get into some long-winded sleep apthenea deal. That's my biggest concern on physicals. Should be OK otherwise. Gravitating toward regionals like Epes, Old Dominion, Cargo Transporters. Other possibles are Roehl, Prime, Boyd, Baylor, US Express. It really feels like a crap shot in a way. And I have spent a LOT of time on this forum, which is outstanding, and others. So, we will see what happens in the next week or so. Like I said, time to make it happen. Best of luck to you.
