And yet the UK has noted a trend where reported symptoms of the Delta variant have changed. Most common symptoms now appear to be runny nose, sore throat and headache. The respiratory issues are becoming less common. This mirrors studies that show that virus generally tend to mutate to become more contageous but less deadly.

Look at it from an evolutionary standpoint. The virus wants to replicate and spread. It cannot achieve that goal if it kills the host.
